thanks for posting the pic!
they said in the story that they kept the cats on the ship to take care of the mice/rats...and as a morale booster~!
that Kitty in the pic was named “Miss Hap” ( “cause she was born at the wrong time, in the wrong place.”)..her mother had been killed in the combat and was adopted by the Marines.
