You can has Altbier.
Aviation officials said the air over England would remain closed to flights until at least 1 p.m. (1200 GMT, 8 a.m. EDT) Saturday, and British Airways announced it was canceling all of its flights to and from London airports late Friday and on Saturday. Airspace restrictions in Scotland and Northern Ireland have been lifted, and Irish aviation authorities reopened airports in Dublin and Cork.
In France, airports in Paris and about 20 other locations in northern France will remain closed until at least midday Saturday.
Belgium extended its flight restrictions until late Saturday morning.
Volcano in Iceland is acting up, the air is full of Volcano dust over Europe, jet engines don’t run very well when they suck in a bunch of rock dust.
I apologize for my previous snarky post #47.
Mears
We have been trying the phone line to Lufthansa busy.
We are trying to gather as much info as possible but Europe seems to be in a stand still, phones, internet to direct sight, etc. FReeRepublic is our link for helpful info.
It is after midnight here so will close out for now. Will try links and phone tomorrow to determine best option.
Thank you everyone for any info. and help.
Goodnight.
Repeat and use as necessary.
You should just take the freeway.
Announcement as of 6:20 AM Saturday.
Germany to decide later this morning about extension of their current air space closure that runs at least until 2:00 PM.
Northeast/east coast US bound flights I've been on from Germany fly over Britain. I think it's most likely flights out of Germany in that direction will be shutdown until at least 8 PM as well.
"It doesn't look good", according to a spokesperson for German Air Traffic Control. Officially, airports in Germany are closed until at least 2:00 PM Saturday. An official decision to extend the closure will be made later this morning.
As of 8:32 AM.
Thank you for your help. We have extended our stay in our hotel until Wednesday. Nothing moving in the sky. Been on the phone with Lufthansa U.S. but received nothing but recording to hold, held for 30 min. Guess we will sit tight until the airport opens then proceed there to try to rebook. $3000 one way ticket to U.S if we change airlines. Considered going to open airport Italy, Spain but cost is prohibitive if we switch airlines.
Cheers.
Your code assigns to two different variables.
There is no indication that those variables are public.
FAIL
LOL
Good choice.
Might as well relax and enjoy your stay.
I'm about 3 hours away, so I can't help much, but if you do need help with something send me a private message and I'll give you my cell phone number.
I think you should be fine though. I even think Lufthansa might pick up some of the hotel bill. I read they have to refund the full ticket price for those who didn't fly.
Good luck.
That is pretty cool.
I flew to Ohio from Miami this morning. When I was at the counter I overheard multiple conversations among people trying to go home to Europe. The list of airports that are not accepting flights is long.
Oh yes, Dusseldorf is closed, Munich is closed, as I understand. We are stuck here but have hotel accommodations thank goodness.
We believe, if we ever get out of Germany and land in the U.S.A. we will kiss the ground.
Thank you and we may need your advice as time goes on. We have not gone to airport to try to make arrangements to rebook, we will wait until airport opens so we can deal with actual facts. We fear we will be here forever, we all have jobs to get back to and animals that are being cared for by others. We still are unable to get through to Lufthansa so waiting.
Visiting Cologne tomorrow by train. Just wasting time but trying to search happy things to do.
Good night.
So, where are you now? How are things going?
Please let us know when you have time.
Just a raw Lufthansa query from their webpage.
