Another thing to post, “If we don’t get into these heated discussions when we go out to eat together, what makes you think it is ‘ok’ to post this partisan blather on my profile?”
“The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money” - Margaret Thatcher
“In America 2012, you don’t change light bulb, Congress pass law that light bulbs must change!” (no more incandescent bulbs)
47% of Americans pay no income tax. When are they going to step up to pay THEIR fair share?
The roads are paid for by tolls, gasoline taxes, and car licensing. While they are taxes, they are USER fees. Those who do not drive a car don't pay them (that includes the freeloading bicycle riding anarchists in Critical Mass). Tax bicycles NOW.
National defense IS one of the stated roles of government.
I could do without public schools, they don't serve the public. Between the NEA union and the radical Safe Schools Czar (who was part of the Fistgate controvesy teaching fisting to kids), we don't need federal influence on our courses.
If labor laws are so good, let's impose them on all nations so that we can equally compete in the marketplace rather than offshoring jobs to achieve lower costs and higher performance.
Environmental laws passed by the EPA are an unconstitutional to our 3 branches of government with a separation of powers component.
Social security is a ponzi scheme and clearly medicare/medicade aren't working (A)because insured patients and those who are self-pay pick up the "unpaid" costs of medic-patients and (B)we wouldn't need to put all Americans under Obamacare if we could have simply insured the uninsured by expanding the coverage under medicare/medicade.
Our monetary system is a joke since we went off the gold standard. Printing funny money is not the answer. China is waking up to this reality.
As to "teabagger", it is a homosexual slur, so when your liberal friends use it, they are being "homophobic" just as they were when they called Iraq War supporting Americans "Chickenhawks", a term for a man who chases boys.
None of the tea party patriots are calling for an "end" to government. They are calling for SMALLER government and more self/independent reliance. Charitable giving will go down as people are taxes more and the deductions for directed giving go away.
Tea party patriots love this country and oppose Obama's brand of "CHANGE" just as they opposed Hillarycare and the other Clinton agenda items they tried to ram through 1993-1994 (which ended when the GOP took back the House and Senate). It isn't racism that drives this. It isn't sexism that caused opposition to Hillarycare. It is a rejection of Socialism.
Perhaps you should summarize it down to these lines and post that.
Debating the proper solutions to "offset" man's impact on the "climate" is a pointless exercise when discussions of "cooked books" and "no oversight" and an academic "blacklist" for dissenting scientists are off the table.
Same goes for discussions of nationalized healthcare. It wasn't "reform", it was a complete restructuring of the entire system. Unless we start to prosecute those who call 911 for NON-emergency medical care the same as we would someone who calls 911 over a Chicken McNuggets sale (which was a criminal act as the sale was made, the product was sold out, and the cashier refused a refund), we will STILL be picking up the cost of "uninsured" patients who skip their tabs.
They call tea partiers "birthers", "racists", and "violent".
Louis Fahrakhan has made racist statements about the Jews, crazy conspiracy theories (and claims to ride in an orbiting UFO mothership), etc.
He was a KEY speaker at the Million Man March (the MMM, supremacist movement).
The media has a side in this debate and pretends they don't. When voters put the Republican Party in charge of the House and Senate in 1994, a network anchor (Brokaw? Jennings?) said that American Threw A Temper Tantrum Last Night. Said it IN his news broadcast. What an insult to the majority of this nation. Peter Jennings lived in the United States for 20 years but didn't become a citizen until 2004 (I suspect to vote against Bush) and even then he proudly proclaimed himself to still hold Canadian citizenship (in direct violation of his naturalization loyalty oath).
My status earlier this week:
“I have decided to refrain from discussing politics with my friends here on FB. So if I respond to one of your political posts, you’ll know where we stand”
