I know. I was nominally in charge of the subversion of Manitoba.
That ... hasn’t gone quite as well as I had hoped.

"Friendly in a Pink Hippo and Grey Oxpecker sort of way." You would possibly be surprised to find that that statement reminds me of a joke.

Watching shadows like that is like watching television. Aside from a little lens distortion, everyone sees the same image.
Looking at objects in real life, no two people can ever see exactly the same image.
“That house on the hill, can you see what color they’ve painted it?”
“It’s white on this side.”
.
Pays to be a careful observer.

"Theres a random leaping r floating around hee somewherre." Said to be a Darkshearean influence. I'm pretty much immune to it by now.

Which brings me to my theory of altered perception, optical and aural distortion and resultant insanity. Or in the case of ~some~ of us, seeing things too clearly to remain "sane." But then I've always been

Beer therapy is almost as good as a Restorative! Depending on where you are in the needing theraputic restoration, that is. Well, the local options on tap here were good, but not to write home about. Then again, I can't remember when I last wrote home anyway. I am guessing it was many decades ago and I don't even know the price of a postage stamp today.
Good time with good folks, but appetizers do not a dinner make so I had a bit more in the hotel restaurant before returning here, finding my 30-minute-or-so project was going to take hours, and breaking for the night.

... seeing things too clearly to remain "sane." That's why I took up poetry. You don't have to defend your sanity.
Apparently it's accepted that you have none.

I meant that poets were not required to have sanity, not that you lacked it.
You’ll have to earn your own accolades.

Edit — “You don’t have to defend your sanity. Apparently it’s accepted that you have none.”
Rewrite — “One doesn’t have to defend his sanity. Apparently it’s accepted that poets have none. “
