I hate to think of how many lives were lost and dollars spent because of the on going pi$$ing contest about missions between the Army and USAF in Vietnam. For instance Army FAC’s couldn’t put in AF F-4’s on a target but if it were Marine F-4’s that was OK. ......and that was just the beginning of absolutely stupid rules and decisions that resulted in lots of names on the wall in DC.

Poor coordination and prevalent rivalry between the services contributed to the death toll.

If the AF’s primary role is not to support ground forces, what is it’s primary mission? Is there a single GWOT mission that is not in support of ground forces?

Oh yea, they shuttle Pelosi back and forth to SF.
