Sorry, don’t see a need for this device at all. I own Apple stock, I have an iPhone, I support many of their products, but I’m not a cheerleader.

I think this device is silly, but certainly others don’t. That’s fine, people can choose what they want to buy.

My iPhone I love except for the lack of multitasking which Apple FINALLY will support later this Summer....about damn time. The lack of Flash and other aspects don’t thrill me, but for the most part I love the phone. For the iPad, no thanks....I’ll use my laptop, I don’t need a giant iPhone to run around with.

You were saying ...

Okay, if you say so fella. I'm just excited about all the neat stuff I can download from Apple and then try a wireless connection to load other crap. Don't get me wrong. I have an iPhone and I love it. My sweetie and daughter have one I pay for also. Love them.....

Well, don't take my word for it, you can see the list of features on the Apple webpage for it... :-)

iPad Features

And just one, for example, you can see ...

Photos on iPad

Now, if you're out and taking pictures on a vacation (or a daytrip, or simply on one particular "outing"), you can take your iPad and your digital camera, and use the iPad to store a collection of photos that you take on your digital camera. I've actually used my laptop that way, but the iPad would be a whole lot more convenient for that.

The iPhone isn't set up the same way for photos as the iPad is. If you have an iPhone, you should have already known that. Just look at the feature "Faces"... you don't have that in the iPhone. And you can't organize them in the iPhone and even cull out the ones you might not want from a photo-shoot or an outing, for example.

And that's just one thing.

You can go down the list of features and see that they are much more than an iPhone.

It's like Steve Jobs was saying when it was first announced that the iPad was being produced (before going on sale) -- he said that it was not like an iPhone (more than that) and it was not like a laptop (less than that). So, it's not either an iPhone or a laptop.

Whatever this iPad is, it doesn't seem to be something I want, even if it has a bigger screen and an do less than my iPhone.

Well, as I said, it does much, much more than an iPhone, that's for sure. But, to say that this particular product is not for you -- isn't anything different than one person saying that an iPod Touch, isn't for them (for an example) or that a laptop isn't for them. That's no big deal. Everyone doesn't have all the same uses as the next guy.

Some may want laptops and others will never want a laptop but simply a destop. And likewise with the iPad.

The key thing here is that Apple is going to get a very large number of consumers (not every consumer on the planet, doncha know ... LOL ...) to buy an iPad, in numbers that even rival the iPhone and it's great success.

So, with those numbers, Apple doesn't have to get someone like you, who doesn't think that you will use these features -- Apple has enough other customers out there to make the product wildly successful as it is ... :-)

And that's all that matters for Apple -- in that the numbers of sales are rivaling the iPhone sales and its "rollout".

As long as Apple is doing that with another new product that they have developed... that's great... :-)

I'm all for it and I probably will get one, because I can see the use of it -- as something between the iPhone and the laptop (as Steve Jobs has said of it, when it was first announced).

I'm getting another laptop, first, though, so I'll be getting mine on down the road... :-)
