Don't let your hatred for John McCain cause you to lose a grip on reality and start posting inane, pointless vanities on FR.

Too late MY FRIEND... McQueeg already got to me.

Only fulfilling an obligation and playing the game with the Republican establishment.

Har-dee-har. Palin is famous for telling the GOP establishment to "get lost" as she did in Alaska. She said she is supporting McCain out of loyalty. I know it goes against the grain as far as politicians go, but I find the easy answer to why Palin does something is very simple - listen to what she says.

Could your premise be faulty?

Don’t underestimate Senator McCain’s political survival instincts. He’s running in Arizona, not Free Republic.

I highly doubt he will trash Palin, if he loses. I’ve got a lot of problems with McCain, but I do not think he would stoop that low.

Besides, it would make no sense at all to blame Palin. His primary opposition is coming from his right and Palin’s support could only help him there. If he were facing a RINO to the left of him, the idea tha Palin’s support hurt him might be somewhat plausible, but it makes no sense at all against Hayworth.

Now if Sarah actively campaigns for him and Hayworth beats him anyway, the MSM will aggressively push the idea that Palin has much less influence than we thought and mock her, but McCain will not say anything negative about her.

I can’t see him trashing her either. His opinion of himself is more robust than our opinion of him and he really does think that he has something to contribute which is why he’s running and needs the battery power of stars like Palin and Brown. He ought to just realize that the jig is up, retire gracefully and let JD Hayworth have it.

I don’t. I would like her to be more restrained and mature. That would be a Coulteresque response. I hope she says something like: Sen. McCain was a fighter, but the good people of Arizona have put their faith in JD Hayworth. I have every confidence that he will earn it. I trust him to fight for Americans as hard as Sen. McCain did, and with Arizona voters, I support him and his efforts.

Too late MY FRIEND... McQueeg already got to me.

LOL. I see that, and that's too bad. Seriously, what is the point? There is nothing to indicate that he will trash Palin. He had plenty of chances after the 2008 election but he didn't. He could have easily agreed with the media and said something like "well, I thought she would be a great addition to the ticket, but it didn't turn out that way. Perhaps I should have gone with someone else...", but he didn't. In fact, he said he wouldn't have been as close as he was without her. Now, she's more popular than ever. She wrote a great book and will be working hard for all sorts of candidates this year. He wants her to campaing for him, and she said she would. For what could he possibly criticize her for after all this time? What would McCain have to gain? She may well be the next President, and I'm sure he knows that. Look at it from a selfish McCain point of view. If he loses the primary, his best chance to get back on the public dole would be in a Palin administration as Sec of Defense or something along those lines...unless you want to start a conspiracy theory that he will trash Palin to gain favor with Obama and get a job in the Obama Admin, but he has done nothing but trash the Obama admin.

The whole argument is probably moot, as Hayworth has little chance of knocking off McCain. I hope Hayworth can pull it off, but to act like it's a foregone conclusion is about as silly as assuming that McCain's reaction will be to lash out at Palin.

very good points, but my thought is that McCain is hoping Sarah campaigns for him until the end, and when she doesn’t he will blow his top when he loses and blame her not himself, which is where the real promblem is himself.

Fulfilling an obligation, yes, but I think that the game she’s playing is with the Lame Stream Media - as are all the games she plays.

What are the odds anyone will care at that point (other than Time magazine and MSNBC)?

She endorsed McCain.

She has not stumped for him.

She has not attacked J.D. Hayworth.

For her sake, I hope she keeps the status quo. That would be my advice, anything else is political roulette.

My impression is most here are willing to give her a pass even if she stumps a little, however if she attacks J.D. the flame dies - she loses Freeper / Tea Party support.

Up to Sarah really. I don’t know her that well. I’ll be paying attention as this McCain “support” level reveals itself in the coming months.

I keep suggesting that you all send post cards to McCain suggesting that he retire rather than be embarrassed in the Primary.

Y’all mailed yours yet?

I am hoping that JD gets such a lead in the polls over McCain that McCain realizes he can’t win the nomination and he decides that retiring is better than being branded a LOSER.

That would take Palin off the hook.

Support Conservative Candidates with a donation, no matter how small!

Post Cards to McCain to retire

Great idea, but I think if he loses the primary to JD, he will just go Indy... McQueeg has no shame.

He didn’t because he is a snake in the grass, thumb in the wind, look at how he ran against ZERO and how he is running against JD. Shit, you couldn’t even say HUSSEIN middle name my friend, but running against JD McQueeg moves to the right, attacks JD all out, but zero nope wasn’t having any of that. Yes, I lost all respect for McQueeg and will even more when he starts trashing Sarah after he loses to JD. And he will, becauase the only people that will give him face time is the MSM 24/7 and we all know they hate Sarah.

He/they do that at their own peril. If such a stupid stunt happens, then Little Miss Meghan may as well go pal with Ron Reagan and Patty Davis..
