Yeah, I was waiting for him to give some sort of idiotic defense of his indefensible statements.
My guess is that the uniform was about as deep as their authority went. Their rules of engagement might have prevented them from doing any more than yelling at the thugs, and manhood or not, you’re going to think twice when you’re outnumbered, unarmed and probably warned off getting physical with people.
There should have been real cops there, not just “security.”

She was getting attacked for something she was wearing by another female backed up by 15 thugs. Unless I totally heard the video wrong, that reeks of gang-related.

There was a time in America where the population that traced its roots to the British Isles and were Anglo Saxon and Scots Irish had the fortitude, tenacity and innate intelligence necessary to conquer a wilderness. This was part of their nature. But this was centuries ago, and these people do not exist anymore. I know I am being viewed as racist,and I am sorry for that, but there is certainly some veracity in types. Academia is not only populated with white leftists but there is a preponderance of black leftists as well particularly on the coasts. One of the SUNY colleges here on Long Island is known for its black leftist professors who claim that most of the blacks filling jails are set up and drivel like that. They are admitted socialists . A friend’s son went to NYU, a very pricey and prestigious school, where he studied under a “renowned” professor who daily gave out communist propaganda to assorted 18 year olds. Of course, most students are ill prepared to make any kind of response, so they either sit mute or are swayed to the left. I believe that it is the parent’s duty to train up their children to know the truth and how to defend it; that is the only way to persevere.

I’m afraid I won’t be able to help you win the big fight if I get myself killed/crippled/incarcerated over something meaningless.
Tell me - what exactly was the fight about? Did more than a dozen “good kids” on their way home from choir practice just decide to pounce on someone? I’m a firm believer in irony and it would be just my luck to get killed defending someone who deserved the ass-whipping they were getting. Where I live these thugs don’t joke around. They’re not very bright but they are impulsive and violent. When I can legally pack heat maybe I’ll like the odds better.

The Kitty Genovese story was largely bullshit. Yes, a woman was murdered. No, 37 people did not sit and watch. Several calls were made to police, police did not respond, at least not in time. Most people were asleep, one was drunk.
I noticed that too - that just as Gretchen made that lament, they showed someone who DID behave as a true hero. We have the good and the bad. This was a pretty egregious case.
Oh, another thing, one reason they didn’t step in was because it was girl on girl.
