Vaccines work when they are made according to cGMP with properly validated processes, qualified equipment, and rigorous clinical trials. How many times has a drug formulation made it all the way to clinical trials before the manufacturer sh!tcanned it and went back to the drawing board?
I work in the pharmaceutical industry, in a plant that makes IV drugs. I won't be getting an H1N1 vaccination, nor will my family.
The vaccine was rushed to market, and I haven't seen where anyone has proven that the efficacy outweighs the side effects, especially among people who already caught the flu last fall before the vaccine was widely available. Which we did.
Ha!
My situation is almost identical to yours, with the exception that I'm three years younger. To me it all boils down to a cost-benefit analysis, which can be performed only on an individual level. Is it worth the risk? I've always been concerned when taking vaccines that I'll be exposing myself to some unknown condition or pathogen while my immune system is diverted toward working on building immunity to whatever vaccine I've taken. It's the law of unintended consequences, which the medical profession doesn't seem willing to take into account. My policy has always been never to introduce foreign substances into my bloodstream unless there is a clear and compelling benefit to be gained, and that benefit clearly outweighs the risk.
I didn’t even put 2 and 2 together at first but now that I see who it is, you are right. This health ranger guy is worse than that Tredeau(sp?) guy on TV. He is a medical luddite.
Your entire reply was very good, and to the point!
“Too bad there is no accountability in Washington. Who is getting wealthy from all this spending?”
The drug companies, vaccine manufacturers, FDA, CDC, etc. The accountability should be for the deaths caused by the vaccine. The ba$tard$ should be thrown in prison and used for human guinea pigs.
Is this flu season over?
Well, it kind of looks like it now, a month and half ago every state was Widespread (max level) now look at the current map ..

Of course, you can get the flu at anytime but the massive wave sweeping the country is over (for now)
Not yet. There's another wave of H1N1 soon to hit, and it's now Seasonal Flu season.
I have not had the flu shots in well over ten years and I am totally okay with that.
I was a guest at a relatives house this summer and fall, and one day she got a wild hair up her a** and she sent me emails from her work using (us.army.mil) mail servers demanding that I get both both flu shots. I got myself out of her house in less than 3 days.
I dont know if she ever got in trouble for that (she is a civilian paralegal in the legal department at a US Army Depot) but I believe that she should have.
Now that you mention it, her cooking was fairly disgusting. I guess that’s why I avoided it every time I could.
