“Dont think hed even consider it.”
He’s already said he wants nothing to do with running for President.
Yes, I did. If you have a little over an hour to spare try this.

Why not? Let him put his issues out there for all of us to see. Lord knows we don’t have anyone else.
Rice/Patraeus
No thanks. He calls himself a Rockefeller Republican and that’s all I need to know about his leanings.
From the article linked below:
“Petraeus is registered to vote as a Republican in New Hampshirehe once described himself to a friend as a northeastern Republican, in the tradition of Nelson Rockefellerbut he said that around 2002, after he became a two-star general, he stopped voting.”

Former military leaders rarely have strong, well-considered views on domestic issues, except for a tendency to favor federal authority. As a result, like Eisenhower, they usually end up being strong on national security but moderate on domestic issues.
Both Spain under Francisco Franco and France under Gen. De Gaulle kept the leftists in their place!
The United States, should not aspire to be a dictatorship.
The fact he dont want to job tells me he is smarter than most running.
He would have to answer questions about basic conservative issues before he get my vote.
That is an incorrect assertion and please don't fall into the trap of thinking that the military is no place for liberals. Some liberal shitbirds can fly really high at the Pentagon.
As for Petraeus, I have no clue as to his philosophy... and that is completely proper. And I assume that he has little use or respect for idiots like PIAPS and Obama, who called him a liar during the Democratic Senate's "surge" show trial. I can respect a real leader. And a real man would be a vast improvement over the femme drug addict currently in the White House.
How about Petraeus/Honore heading up the "Stop Yer Bitching, America" party ticket? Two honorable and decent leaders that can tell this country's whiners to just STFU. Might be the only cure for this sick nation's malaise.
Bottom-line--nonstarter.
This one is even sillier than the speculation about McCain/Lieberman.
He who has reportedly described himself as a “Rockefeller Republican?” No thanks, we already dodged a bullet with Colin Powell.
Then you should have posted something about the General’s politics, just posting a name of a guy that no one knows anything about and asking if we should make this guy president, seems like an especially senseless vanity.
I would give it a thought or two but I would like to know more about his views on the important issues of the day. A general can be a great president—we have had some good ones in the past.
In the US, candidates running as war heroes tend to lose (Dole, Kerry , McCain)
I like Ike!
The general has a number of published works, unlike other potential candidates coming from outside the normal political channels. I don’t know if his expressed views will conflict with the average American’s views on the issues of the day, however he has had to stand for and defend, his works a number of times. Unlike the academic record of our current president, his academic and professional work can be examined and judged on its own merit. I’m sure he hasn’t taken public positions on some social issues of importance of conservatives, but he does have a long and strong public background.
