"If we're unable to meet with him, we'll move on with our investigation," Montes said. But she called the delays "very unusual, because it's such a minor accident."
Now, if the police are saying that this kind of delay is very unusual for "such a minor accident" -- then by inference and conclusion, I would say that the "charges" could only be "minor" too.... LOL...
Amen, tiki, this is what it’s about for the media -— and it’s a flaw of human nature -— to build someone up to heights of fame and fortune and then make sport of bringing them down. It’s ugly.
Tiger is not a “minority.”
If Woods called 911, HE MADE it police business.
Well, I guess since he didn't make the 911 call, by your statement it's not police business then? :-)
Investigating and prosecuting instances of domestic violence is undermining marriage? Wow, that is some twisted logic.
Tiger is not a redhead.
(Just kiddin’ ya.)
He said he's a "Cablanasian" ;-)
I don’t think Woods himself has ever self promoted to do more than make money.
Being called a “hero” by the media is not something you want done, because as soon as they build you up, they will try to tear you down.
I remember Charles Barkley, who got loud and upset at even the suggestion that he might be a “role model”. He insisted that he was in it for the money, that anyone who thought he was a role model was an idiot, and those trying to make him into a role model were double idiots. It was a respectable snarl, and I thought better of him for it.
Well, Woods is in the same boat, and even more so. To start with, he *is* a superb golfer, and has changed the game forever. Plus, he too has been cautious not to be subverted to the purposes of scoundrels, namely Bill Clinton, who did everything he could to try and glom on to Woods fame like a lamprey.
By making a huge amount of money, which he has been judicious with, I might add, he understood that he is now the target of every ambitious scoundrel, con-artist and potential litigant in the world. We can but hope that he has a bullet proof prenuptial agreement with the Swedish woman he married.
I would not be surprised if “the other woman” figured that she could take him for a sucker, as she has seemingly done so with other celebrities in the past. And, of course, the police would be thrilled to be involved with busting either a big name like Woods or his wife, or both.
Yes, he is a target, and he knows it. So to those who criticize him, especially ink-stained wretch journalists, it is best to consider how well *they* could golf a game, before trying to tear down someone who has remade the game.
That is a disgraceful, one-sided opinion piece. It is far from excellent.
Although I found it interesting and am glad you posted. Helps illustrate so clearly what jealousy can do to a person.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree. Tiger's persona wasn't born from thin air. It was carefully crafted by the handlers and image specialists at companies like Nike and American Express.
From the time his first commercial aired, he wasn't marketed as a "golfer", but as a transcendent figure in American sport (sound familiar?). The wrapped him in his multi-cultural cloak and promoted him with statements (paraphrasing) about him growing up not able to play certain courses because of the color of his skin - all bunk.
When 90% of your income, as in the case of Tiger Wood's, comes from endorsements, you and your team, bear at least some culpability in your "saintly persona". If you build it up, someone's going to tear it down. It's the American way.
I think Tiger didn't fight back.
“Oh, and just because Mr. Woods cant compete in his tournament this week, why cant he show up to watch over things? If it means so much to him, youd think hed have the decency to put in an appearance.”
Are you serious?
If he showed up the place would be a circus for all the wrong reasons. His tournament would be wasted.
So you are saying that Woods is all style and no substance? A REAL man wouldn't have allowed this incident to spin so long that he puts himself in a no-win situation like that.
Looks like Kitten Woods is getting his "American I-dull" comeuppance, and none too soon, IMHO.
No requiring an arrest without evidence in any case of alledged domestic violence. It is a great liberal trick you are falling for:
1. Getting more people with arrest records and worse job prospects.
2. Undermining marriage by intruding the government in minor disputes between married people.
Finally, your Nigerian type e-mail response to me was very very funny and I laughed out loud in my office. Still it legally requires evidence to arrest someone not county executives orders. You may have suspicions in the Woods situation, but no evidence.
When ones actions are indefensible one does not fight back.
I’m so very glad I love my wife and would do nothing to alter our relationship.
Least of all for a piece of tail.
Okay, he’s a minority of one;^)
Now, try saying “Cablanasian” 10 times fast:)
Funny how all of Tiger Woods troubles started after turning down a golf game with Dear Leader in Taxachusetts. Must be something in the water.
Geesh, these things are so odd, aren’t they?
I say, punish him, he didn’t do nothing to me, but then, he makes too much money. So, he deserves it./s
