A better site, IMO, and one that is less “atheist” is:

http://www.irr.org/mit/

And the funny thing is, for most of their history they have shunned the term “Christian”, even making fun of us. Now they want to be included in Christianity, the whole while believing (and saying) “The LDS are the only TRUE Christians, the rest are of the devil”.

They can’t have it both ways. The only way they will ever be Christians is to renounce their current theology and scriptures and practices, and come to the Christ of the Bible. I don’t see that ever happening.

I’m a Christian.
I wear you moniker of “jack (space) ass” proudly.
It means that you know I’m right.

I’m not a prophet, but I play one on TV (Brigham Young, 2009)

- - - - - - - - - -
That’s funny. Truthfully and sadly, BY and the others are only “prophets” when it is convenient. There is no consistancy, and in any given group of 100 mormons you will never get a consensus on exactly when BY was “speaking as a prophet”.

No, it’s the only answer.

Oh my, Thus Sprach Buckey boy. So oh enlightened one, where does the allegory stop and reality start? Does it start at "God created", they you are making your "Jesus" into a liar, since Jesus is God the Son, I would suspect He wouldn't need a fictional story when telling the truth would suffice. But then since you make the bible to be allegory - what representation of Jesus are you trying to interpret here?

And you base your claim to being called a Christian on what again?

I’m a Christian.

Based on what?

I wear you moniker of “jack (space) ass” proudly.

If the shoe fits....

It means that you know I’m right.

No, the previous admission by yourself of being a jackass, doesn't mean that you're right and we know it. It means that you're not right and you don't know it.

So, where does allegory end and history start in Genesis? Or is the whole book allegory, which effectively wipes out the whole basis for the Jewish nation?

You notice how incomplete his answers are.

If he had the courage of his convictions and the “right answers’ he would be able to fill in those blanks and answer such queries with ease.

As it his he doesn't have the depth to cover his own BS.

At least the average LDS can do that for Pete's sake.

As it is all he has is attacking and insult. Ironically that is a sign of “weak faith” or a lack of conviction moire than anything else...

Oh well, at least he, or should I say ‘they” are fun and predictable...

And just by what STANDARD does the LDS Organization® USE to determine which is which?

- - - - - - - - -
That is just it, there is no standard.

See my post #1223

OTOH, Yes, we have to agree, you are right about being a jackass.

But not anything else.

It does more than that. If Genesis is all allegory, then Christianity itself is no more than a pleasant dream/fantasy.

Genesis 15 gives the background for why Jesus sacrificed Himself for us.

Our beloved Leader&Founder did NOT hate them: he LOVED them!

Otherwise he would not have pointed out the things they taught were untrue.

Hey MD,

Then just how much more did he LOVE those two men he killed in that gunfight at the Carthage jail?!

It means he is hiding his own self doubt and lack of conviction behind a front of arrogance and bombast.

I am actually starting to feel some pity. I have known others that conflicted, it wasn't pretty.

God promised a redeemer in Genesis 3. It wipes out that, too.

stop bombarding her with facts from our history?

- - - - - - -
MD, I am just simply trying to get her to answer some questions I posed.

Would YOU care to take a stab at them? I would love to get some answers to them.

You notice how incomplete his answers are.

All the time, we get more complete answers from resty et.al.

If he had the courage of his convictions and the “right answers’ he would be able to fill in those blanks and answer such queries with ease.

Of course he could - if he had something there to fill it with.

As it his he doesn't have the depth to cover his own BS.

Couple of phrases come to mind:
All hat and no cattle
Mile wide and half inch deep

C’mon resty, ABANDON SHIP!

The ship has served her well enough for years - years that were spend being indoctrinated in LDS the mindset.

Only GOD can break thru that hard shell of defense she has built around herself.

LORD, I pray that before it is too late; Restornu will have had a Damacus road experience - one like you gave to Saul.
Amen.

Saul; who later became Paul...

Perhaps Restornu will become Washedanew!

- — - - - - - - - -
Amen.

In all seriousness, that is my constant prayer. That the demonic chains that hold her to the LDS will be broken and she will come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It has happened to so many LDS I know, I pray that it happens to Resty.

I like “washedanew”.

BTW, are we still holding “Resty Thursdays”?

And you base your assertion that I am not on my position that there is allegory in the bible?

Please, God made us smarter than that, Mr. Science.
