I wonder where the deer came from?
Was it from inside the zoo?
It’s not like the National Zoo is anywhere near wilderness or rural areas that the deer could have just wandered in.

Funny thing is, we went to the Denver Zoo today and my husband said they should tie up a goat in the lions' enclosure to make things a little more exciting for the spectators. Not that I would want to see that, but it was kind of a funny comment.
We didn't get to see a lion chasing a deer, but we did get to see a group of male ROP members in the bird house--kind of odd that no women and children were with them. After I saw one sitting there, they didn't appear to be with the others, with a laptop bag in his lap and a small earphone in his ear, I mentioned to my husband that we should try to make it through quickly.
We also saw a very tall male with a pony tail, sweater, lipstick, and tight purple spandex pants sauntering through the zoo. What would have been more entertaining would have been to see the reaction of the ROP members encountering the male in the spandex.
Unfortunately, I couldn't discreetly take the purple spandex guy's picture.
Anyway, sorry to hear about the deer. I wish he could have made it out safely.

I not sure why the deer was rescued only to be killed when it could have been left to entertain the lion and paying visitors.

The Zoo is free but they always want donations. I’d pay, or even become a “FONZ”, to see them throw a deer in the lion’s den every week. Those things are nothing but tick-infested giant rats.

People keep telling me that deer are smart and are just confused by bright lights. I just think that herbivores with small brains are dumb.
Pass the venison.

Folks today are so weak.
All I could hear were women screaming in anguish as the lion pursued potential food.
reminded me of old growth tree sobbers
