We killed off most of the real men in World War II.

“Reona Mitsuyama says that, along with skirts, men’s heels and slim, muscular physiques are forming the basis for a “slim macho” look”

No, really. Not so much. The Japanese are a strange little people.

I guess Hello Kitty for men is un-vogue.

Yet certain men can get away with the "look."

My dad was a man, my grandfathers were men, my son the Marine is a man, hell, even I am a man; we were all once boys. None of us have worn or do wear skirts. These things in skirts are not men or boys. If they moved to the US, they would be prominent members of the Democrat party. I bet Rahm still wears his tutu in private.

Harajuku’s been a little weird on weekends just about since forever. And maybe more than a little. But these guys’ll graduate and get with the main stream by the time they’re twenty-five, and no one’ll ever know what they were up to “way back when.”

It’s a Japan kinda thing.

I remember Japan tried to start a trend of men wearing skirts about 10 years ago. Even with a push from the fashion industry here, it didn’t take in the US and it was just a fleeting thing in Japan too.

I certainly hope you are correct.

But what's worse, a skirt, or pants falling off with your 'wears showing?

In Fiji, sarongs are called “sulus”. My exwife and I both bought them during our Honeymoon there. I wore it in the resort a couple of times, but when we got back, wifey cut them up and made Hawaiian shirts out of them.

Later, I found out that George Takai was queer.

Figures...

I believe we were typing about skirts, not kilts. No need to make a fight when none is needed. Have a nice day.

Only on weekends? Harajuku is weird every time I've passed through.

It wasn't very long ago that earrings were strictly women's wear in the US. Call me old fashioned, I guess ...
