That’s the one! Did you take that? My mother in law lives at CCNC about 2 miles from Pinehurst. Love going there!

I remember the day of Payne and crew’s accident. I was sitting with a pilot friend of mine at a country club in Naples. We watched the whole thing play out. A very sad day for golf. My friend sad they died quickly but I couldn’t help thinking what must have gone through all of their minds knowing they wouldn’t see their families again.

No. it’s not my photo. Found it online. My dad has traveled to Pinehurst to play for many years and had told me about the statue.
