Lackey seemed to lose a little of his control and composure, I can’t second guess him on that. Ball 4 to Matsui missed by 3 feet. Girardi, on the other hand is out of control.

I heard the game on the radio while working (work a nighttime post office job)...well, I’m off weekends but we do have a game for Sat. night now and I can watch that on TV! A close one for Angels but they got out of the 9th...and it’s getting interesting. The odds are still against them but who knows.

ESPN Radio (J. Miller, J. Morgan) was saying that Lackey was indeed upset at the call and it got to him even after the pitching coach came out to try and settle him down.

Did they mean he’s hit 2 HR in this series?

Here's that embarrassing screen capture that MLB.com had up for at least 2 hours after the Phillies game on Monday - - the game the Phils won 5 - 4 on a two-out double by Jimmy Rollins in the 9th inning.

I guess so, but that’s not usually how they list the line score stats for the players coming up in the next half inning, but anyway, I think he has 3 HR’s not 2.

WCBS-TV forecast (fw:ed to me by someone on twitter)

>>Saturday - Rain with isolated thunderstorms. Rain may be heavy at times. Breezy with highs in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 15 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent.

from ESPN

>>Lawyer: Jamie McCourt out as CEO
LOS ANGELES — A lawyer for Dodgers CEO Jamie McCourt said she was fired Thursday by her estranged husband, team owner Frank McCourt, a day after the Dodgers lost the National League championship series.

>>Attorney Dennis Wasser said his client learned she was no longer employed by the Dodgers, who ended their season Wednesday after being bounced in the NLCS by the Philadelphia Phillies for the second straight year.

>>”Jamie is disappointed and saddened by her termination,” Wasser said. “As co-owner of the Dodgers, she will address this and all other issues in the courtroom.”
Frank McCourt’s attorney, Marshall Grossman, declined to comment. A Dodgers spokesman said the team doesn’t comment on personnel matters. Last week the couple confirmed in a terse statement that they have separated. Jamie McCourt sat in the first row of the owner’s box for Game 1 of the NLCS. Her husband was in the third row next to former Dodgers manager Tom Lasorda.

>>suddenly we have an ALCS whose final act could thrust it into the company of baseball’s most memorable postseason showdowns.
How’s that, you ask?
Three of the first five games have been decided by one run, two lasting into extra innings. Only once in their history have the Yankees had a postseason series with as many as four one-run games, and that was the 9/11 World Series of 2001, whose powerful emotional subtext was matched by phenomenal play afield.

NY Post forecast:
SAT:
Heavy rain and a thunderstorm
SUN:
Sunshine; breezy, cooler

POSTPONED

yahoo sports:

NEW YORK (AP)—Game 6 of the AL championship series between the Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees was postponed because of rain Saturday.

The game was rescheduled for 8:20 p.m. Sunday at Yankee Stadium.

New York leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 and needs one victory to clinch its 40th pennant and reach the World Series for the first time since 2003. Game 7, if necessary, will be Monday in New York at 7:57 p.m.

“The one thing is, you don’t want to stop and start, and we don’t know when the rain is going to get out of here,” Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. “I respect the decision that they made. I’m sure both clubs would have liked to have played, but the weather’s not permitting it.”

"Live Thread"? Dead thread is more like it.

I know what I'll do.

I'll liven this puppy up with some good ole pics of Game Six.

Any objections?
