I think he must be talking about a DPMS AP4.

That .22 caliber survival rifle is an AR-7.

OH... one of my sons has a DPMS AP4. ...funny thing about that rifle. He "thought" it was heavier than the Armalite equivalent. So we removed the uppers. Then we removed everything that was removable from the uppers (sights, rails, lights, bolt-carrier/bolt, charging handle...etc.). Then we weighed the uppers.

There wasn't much difference between the DPMS AP4 upper and the Armalite M15 M4-clone upper.

So we took the lowers and removed the sliding portions of the stock, and the recoil buffer and spring. The DPMS lower was about a FULL pound heavier than the Armalite lower! We didn't remove the trigger groups or mag release. We DID measure the magazine well diameters and the DPMS was .010 smaller all the way around. But I don't think that could account for a pound of metal. They both appeared to be dimensionally very similar in the machining on the insides. But something was definitely different...to the tune of a pound of metal!

My sons were addicted to Lego when they were smaller. Once they made this very, VERY cool looking “weapon”. Even us big guys thought it was cool! So naturally they wanted to “play” with it...which worked fine until one of them collided with the fridge cutting a corner too fast and too sharp and the thing went into a million pieces! They made some really cool stuff with Lego! :-)

That's right! :-) You see, when Obama became the Ayatollah here in America, a strange phenomena swept the nation wereby millions of EBR owners became FISHERMEN!. ...and lost weapons while out in the boats. :-)

My step-granson and I play Leggos every chance I get ... he just turned six in late Sept. The Leggo themes are interesting, with light sabers and Indy Jones characters ... I like the direction booklets with step by step instructions for construction. Now that he’s learned to read, he corrects me alot ...

I'll bet we've got the equivalent of 20 gallons of the stuff in the attic! :-) There was ALWAYS a Leggo piece laying around the house "somewhere"...along with being hidden in the depths of the mini-van. :-) Cleaning the van was like "Christmas" for them because they always found something they thought was long lost! To step on one at o-dark-thirty during a midnight kitchen trip was a most unpleasant experience!

Also, as they got more advanced with Legos, it became a major crisis if they lost a specialized piece!

Leggos were just coming into fashion when I was "about" 6 or so. We grew up with Lincoln Logs. :-) But I came to the conclusion that this annoying "toy" (Leggos!) was a very good thing for them! For starters, it caused them to think creatively! Once they learned to read, it honed their reading comprehension skills to have to read the instructions!...something they VERY much wanted to do in order to get the kit put together correctly! It helped build fine motor coordination and skill, and IF they did this together it required that they practice COOPERATION!

...all pretty important stuff IMHO! Yeah... Leggos ROCK. We still have the HUGE Walmart tub full of them upstairs!...and bring them down if somebody brings little kids over. If this happens, my two (who are 14 and 19 now) will help the little guys and I can see that they STILL like Leggos. :-)
