OK, you too.
I’m curious to hear your logic on this one.
hoping the gators beat ol bamy in the SEC championship
I fear that Florida and Bama BOTH could lose a game, and BOSIE STATE, having played only ONE ranked team, and who barely beat unranked Tulse this weekend, could end up in the big game..
WE NEED A PLAYOFF SYSTEM.
Everyone knows Barack Ubama is going to be named National Champion after whatever the hell Bowl game is played.
When we won the championship in 2006, our offense stunk up the joint most of the year, our defense carried us, it was only in the SEC Championship and the BCS title game that our offense woke up.
My hope is that UF utilizes Deonte Thompson more, because I see him as the only receiver that gives UF anything close to what Harvin and Murphy gave us last year.
But the bottom line is, we better fix the pass rush, on both sides of the ball. We got sacks on Mallet, but for the most part he had plenty of time. If he just connected on half of his throws, Arkansas wins the game easily.
And we can’t give up six sacks, and every future Gator opponent is studying the film of yesterday’s game, so they better figure things out QUICK.
We haven’t won in Starkville since 1985, so they really better get it figured out.
Imagine if Texas and USC lose yesterday. Florida and Bama are unbeaten going into the SEC title game. There was a very realistic possibility that Florida and Bama would wind up playing each other again for the title, especially in the SEC title game was close.
What? No. I’m hoping Alabama never makes it to the BCS title game in the first place, preferably due to a crushing late-season loss to some jobber team, ala WVU losing to Pitt. And then I’m hoping UM makes it to the BCS title game somehow.
It’ll be tough rolling when the big Felines come to town....
Texas is as good as either Al. or FLA. (at least their defense) and they are in the BCSNC driver’s seat if they win out.
Does anyone remember what Utah did to Alabama last year?
Texas beat the 20th ranked team (whose QB was out) by a field goal...not the stuff of greatness. Texas lost to Texas Tech last year, who were then clobbered by Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl.
I predicted the Utah loss last year...when a college team comes from down and out (2 years ago) to being one breath from the title game and lose a close one...they deflate.
Saban said it would be very hard to get them up for the Utah game...they were flat...they didn’t care if they won that game.
Same happened to an up and coming Fresno State a few years back...undefeated going into a big game with #1 ranked USC...they were leading in the fourth quarter..two quick scores by USC and they lost the biggest game they had in years...went on to lose the rest of their games because the game that REALLY mattered most to them was close loss...and that is what happened to Bama last year.
If Utah REALLY was that good, where are they this year?
Should. But you never know what can happen v. A&M when the game is at Kyle field. Plus they gotta go play OK State in Stillwater next week.
Yes, they SHOULD win out, but they're gonna have to play tough to do it. No more waiting until the 2nd half to show any sort of offense.
Let me add one thing that we agree about.
Texas is as good as Florida, considering that Florida is no where near as good as they were last year. The loss of Harvin and two super wide recievers has left them considerably weaker that last year.
Bama has hands down the best talent on both sides of the ball, but alas, they have an idiot for offensive coordinator.
Texas has a good chance to get to the big game...they play only two teams the rest of the season that currently have winning records...and I, like you, do believe Texas to be good....BUT, once those Big 12 offenses face defenses like they have in the SEC, the scoring drops...Oklahoma was averaging 65 points until they met Florida...From 65 points to 14.
I happen to think if FL doesn’t turn the ball over in that game they win by at least 3 TDs and all this “bama is better than FL” talk would be less prevalent. I like it that ‘Bama is now seen as the favorite and the only thing that matters is the final ranking.
Exactly. Hopefully we have that same chip on our shoulder as we did after the Ole Miss game, only without the loss.
But Starkville has been a “House of Horrors” for the Gators. They haven’t won there since 85, and Mullen will definitely be motivated. Hopefully the Gators will play mad, and put it away early.
Deonte Thompson has been hurt. You saw what he can do on that 75-yard touchdown. The Gators have to get him into the mix, because other than him, they really don't have anybody to put fear into the opposing defense.
I think Bama can win playing as they are now, but the lack of red zone offense concerns me. It would be a tough win at least. I don't think we can hold Tebow for much less that 20 points, so we'll have to get the dang ball into the endzone with the OFFENSE. Field goals ain't gonna cut it against FL (or LSU for that matter). I do, however, believe that if everyone is healthy (especially Jones and Hightower) and Mac is back to form, we'll crush FL in the championship game. Let's look to the immediate games first. We still have TN, LSU, and Auburn to beat before we go counting those chicks. This is no easy task. There is a great deal of rivalry and heart in all three of those games and anything can happen.
Bama won't lose to the jobber (Tennessee-Chattanooga), but other than that they have 4 tough conference games to get through. LSU is formidable and Auburn is rarely easy. I think we can whip TN and Miss St fairly easily. I'm glad we play LSU in T-Town and not Death Valley.
