Give the guys in lederhosen purple SEIU purple t-shirts and change the swastikas to an ACORN logo and it would be deja vu.

[Is it possible that the propagandists used the 1940 equivalent of Photoshop techniques to fake the size of the crowd?]
NO. I’ve seen pictures like this before. In fact, I have a bunch of Life and Look magazines from the 30’s and 40’s that probably have similar pictures in them.
Those people either loved Hitler or lived in fear of him so gatherings were a ‘must’ - I believe.
We’ve become too suspicious of every picture being photoshopped now days, so we often disregard what is really real.

I can effortlessly provide my own context. Chilling. Thanks for posting D59.

Yes, that picture of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain reviewing the SS gave me the creeps. I actually didn’t want to believe that was him, so I had to look.

Clearly, the National Socialists were efficient community organizers. Creepy, and particularly creepy in the context of our recent “mmmm, mmmm, mmmm” indoctrination in public schools.

Probably Munich. He has a defeated look.

Thank you Darteaus. I’m probably on ‘a list’ somewhere, for expressing my ‘free opinion’!

A terrific travel through the Fascist world - never saw these before, and I was around when LIFE magazine was THE one to read.
What struck me was the difference between these two photos, which, IMO, describes Hitler's rise and fall.

I’m reading Shirer’s ‘The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,’ so I find these photos very interesting and very chilling at the same time, much like the book.

They were snappy dressers.
What, no pictures of Goering?
Just think, if Hitler had died in 1938, he’d have been a hero. Amazing how a few years (and some meth) turns him into a mass murdering psycho!
Nice picture of Chamberlain; someone should photoshop zero into his picture.

Thanks devolve.
Wish you could see all the pictures but there are so many and all huge sizes.
It is subduing to view them.
