“I love the crockpot but 8 hours to wait for dinner is sooooooooooooo long.”
That’s why I put the pot on in the morning and it cooks while I work in my home office. I get to enjoy the smells and I actually get work done. Not only that, by dinner time you just know I am NOT working late!
Giants hold a special place in our loreboth historical and literary. From the real giant Goliath to the fictional giant of Jack and the Beanstalk fame, we are fascinated by these larger-than-life characters.
Sometimes we use the word giant to honor ordinary-size people who have done extraordinary things. One example is the 17th-century physicist Sir Isaac Newton. A committed Christian, he credited his success to other giants who had gone before. If I have seen a little further, he said, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants. Indeed, Newton became a giant on whose shoulders later scientists stoodeven as they used his observations in the conquest of space flight.
When God commanded Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, Joshua certainly had a giants shoulders to stand on. He had watched Moses leadership for 40 years, and now he would put what he had learned into action.
Joshua had another advantagehis walk with God sustained his lifes mission. Therefore, he had both Moses example and Gods promised presence as he led Israel.
Looking for help as you face the future? Look for a giant to follow. And never underestimate the importance of your walk with God.
Good Saturday Morning Yorkie...

Good Morning Mayor ~ a “giant” in my life was my dear father...a godly man who showed me what living for God looks like.
Happy Saturday, Yorkie!
Thirteen years ago, three of us gals bought a litter of yorkies. My best friend got a female, another best friend got a male. I got Lindy.
Well, Lindy’s brother moved out of state about five years ago, and she misses her brother very much, as she saw him every week. Tonight, ‘Bro’ will be here, and will stay for a week, while his mom and dad stay in a condo, and catch up with old friends.
I am fixing a ‘reunion’ dinner for all of us. Corned beef, cabbage, new potatoes, carrots and dark rye bread (and a loaf of fresh made white bread). Peach cobbler for dessert.
I have plenty for everybody, so com’on over!
Your little girl is precious..Happy reunion with Lindy’s brother and family...Your dinner sounds delish!
What a darling sweetie she is, yorkie!
Exciting for Lindy, Bro and their “ moms and pops”!
I’ll be right over... corned beef and cabbage! Yummmmmm!!!
