ANYONE who has been associated with the Conservative Movement has been called a racist. I remember back in the 1970s being called a racist for opposing forced school bussing, quotas, affirmative action etc.

"Racist!" has been the worst epithet they were able to toss. In the past it would result in being shunned, losing your job, getting bad grades. People would get very defensive and work hard to explain why they were not racist.

Now, it's been overused so much, that I think that conservatives are starting to not care any more. "Ok, I'm racist. Well, you're ugly".
