This is the best video I can find on it. Boise State beat Oregon 19-8. After the game, Byron Hout went to taunt Blount and was immediately decked. At some point during the incident, police had to help restrain Blount and escort him to the locker room.

Hout learned an important lesson. Never taunt anyone without your helmet on.

Congrats to Boise, from a USC fan.
The Ducks got their collective asses kicked by a team that just plain wanted it more.
In defense of OU though, it was their first game under a new coach so one would expect some confusion.

I can’t tell what happened before, but that was an obvious sucker punch by Blount. Also they had to restrain him from going after the heckling fans. That tends to happen in sports. Nobody ever told him that?

Actually without sound we do not know that Hout taunted him. But Blount was the one who publically said, “... we owe that team an ass kicking.” As the announcers said, if you write that check with your mouth, you better expect to hear about it if you can not back it up.

I am looking at the long video... and it looks like Blount was even hitting his own players when they were trying to calm him down after the incident. Yeah, I can’t tell if Hout taunted him before.

Blount won’t play the next game and may be out for the season.

Boy, this is going to generate a lot of sports talk radio talk fodder. I can't wait for Mike Golic, Mike Greenberg and Colin Cowherd to comment on this on ESPN Radio on 4 August 2009.

Blount was certainly fighting his own teammates when they tried to restrain him after he punched Hout. He also tried to go into the stands when he was being escorted in to the lockerroom by a coach and teammates.
What do you think should happen to him? I think he has to be suspended for one game minimum.

What’s up with the little dance after popping the guy? Is this a rap video? And, a better question, what is up with Oregon’s unis? What fifth grader did they let design them?

suspended for one game minimum. That's a given...likely the whole season. Too many roids or perhaps he 's just wackadoo.

Well... a one game suspension was what that Ohio State player got for choking Sorgi in 2003. Most of the players in the Miami vs. FIU fight got a one game suspension while one got an indefinite suspension. I think this was worse, because the police were involved and I wouldn’t be shocked if he was gone for the whole season. Hitting his teammates means he is a toxic player, and I wouldn’t want him playing on my team.

If the Oregon coach had any integrity, he’d drop this thug from the team immediately. I am sick and tired of this behavior ruining football. It doesn’t matter what Hout said to him, Blount is responsible.

As far as from a criminal standpoint theres nothing that Im aware of that were doing, Lt. Bryan Hagler of the Boise Police Department told The Associated Press. LOL rumors of arresting Blount. Too funny.

I agree. If there are no real consequences, the occurrence of events like this will only increase, and the faux-sportsmanship the NCAA is forcing the teams do before the games is not helping.
