She didn’t do anything wrong. I was raped by someone I’d known for years, at a party when I was 15. Because we were drinking, and because I left the party willingly with him - only to take a walk as far as I thought - I never told anyone at the time. Only a couple of very close friends, and my husband even know now, 28 years later. I was afraid of getting in trouble from my parents, of getting in trouble for having a drink, being accused of leading him on or being too flirtatious or whatever. And I didn’t want everyone in the school to know.
