I must say there is some honor in his killing himself.

I cannot say I find any honor anywhere in killing oneself to avoid the consequences of your actions.
Pretty much the definition of cowardice from where I sit.
But this guy was a pretty twisted fellow, so the usual rules likely don’t apply.

I cannot say I find any honor anywhere in killing oneself to avoid the consequences of your actions.The problem is that had he been extradited back to the USA, he'd not receive any consequences for his actions, as the death penalty would have been off limits.
I have to admit though it is a pretty slick strategy to avoid capital punishment. Kill all the people you want in the USA, then slip into Canada or Mexico, get caught, and never have to worry about the death penalty.

The man was a coward. How he chose to off himself has no bearing on that.
He killed himself (unless the mystery woman killed him) to avoid facing up to his actions.
He is, by definition, a coward. Regardless of the method.
