To be honest, if, being sane, she killed her baby in a fit of anger or in an accident, she would have devised another way to explain its death. I do not believe any sane person could use a saw, a sword, and a kitchen knife to saw off the head of a baby. A sane person could not engage in such an activity.
Actually, I failed to make myself clear. I have some professional experience with schizophrenia, and have seen it up close and personal in a distant family member. I have a reasonable understanding of the etiology of schizophrenia, to the extent that current research has identified. Yes, it's extraordinary what good medication can do.
But I am also a Christian with some fundamentalist leanings, and I believe that Satan, the devil of hell, can work in these situations. That does not mean I believe, as other posters do, that someone who does such a thing should "go straight to hell." Perhaps only God Himself can decide on culpability in such cases.
You are correct and He did decide: If man sheds innocent blood, then by man shall his blood be shed.- Exodus
People like you always want to throw the idea of punishment on God. God told us what to do, you just don't like the answer.
Legally, no she isn’t. Me personally I believe she is as culpable as ever.
Those that arrived on the scene of this nightmare, won’t be the same.
The fact that she owned a sword and a machete and had a history of mental illness should have raised alarm bells.
Who needs swords and machetes, anyhow?
Kind of an understatement.
Indeed. I was downplaying the fact that the "mother" sounds like a complete loon.
A followup story to this incident, with additional details was posted, and apparently was so brutal, several people demand it be deleted from this site, which is was.
Never saw that happen here.
Oh God will decide ... but while she is on this earth, human beings have the OBLIGATION to PUNISH her for this act of choice.
Or are you suggesting she should NOT be punished ?
I agree with you on this issue.
Go preach to someone else, hypocrite.
You post sympathy for the horror of this crime and then espouse a similar horror for the perpetrator. How does that make me the hypocrite and not you? I think you must have been looking in the mirror when you chose that word. Hypocrite fits you well.
