I have a Glock 9mm, a .357, mobssberg shotgun, and an AR (Bushmaster).

I’ve been looking for other quality handguns, and I think I found one I like. It’s small, easy to carry and I’ve bought two of them. A 9mm and a .40

It’s a CZ Rami

I don’t know if any of you have thoughts about CZ, but I’m loving both!

Another consideration is the availability of ammo in your area. It is worth researching to see if you have any limitations...it is getting tougher...

get a 10-22 and either a 30-30 lever rifle or a 30-06 bolt gun.

These are the easuest to find ammo for and should serve you well.

A year ago all we had was a 40 year old 12 ga pump shotgun. We now have a S & W 38, a Henry 17 caliber lever action rifle, and a 40 caliber Glock. We had a 9mm Kahr but gave that to our son.

The only one that’s been fired is the Kahr. Need to get our collective butt in gear and find a shooting range.

First off, move to a southern state. A lot more stuff is legal down here. And you could get one of these:

Otherwise, the link below looks like a good site in New York for ideas. Price ranges, opinions and discussions on legal firearms in NY.

There is bound to be a gun trader Internet forum in the state unless its illegal.

That Marlin lever action .357 mag rifle is an amazingly good shooter. My father-in-law has one and we shot it in May when I went to visit him. It is a fine rifle. At 100 yards or less, it is all you'd ever need for any kind of defense.

My personal favorite is a .308 Tikka T-3 Lite with a blued barrel and composite stock. It is a fantastic bolt-action rifle that has no iron sights but comes new with factory scope rings. You can reduce recoil by installing a Limbsaver pad on the butt of the stock.

Made in Finland by Sako, every Tikka T-3 is guaranteed to shoot 3 rounds into one inch at 100 yards. They test every rifle for that level of accuracy before they ship it.

The rifle weighs just over 6 pounds.

The bolt on the Tikka is machined so perfectly, it slides almost effortlessly.

A bump for YardDogs’ suggestion. A .22 rifle and pistol are good things to have.

I believe Lever actions will be the last to be confiscated after BAO packs the court or sooner if he declares martial law. No detachable mags and not made in military calibers. bolt actions will go because of magazine. Calibers .223, 7.62x39, .308, 30/06, 9mm, .45 acp will all go as well as all autoloading and even pumps have been put on some hate lists.
Would I junk these guns? Certainly not. I just would buy one or two not on the hate list for when the court is Obamaized.
I have an M1 that I will keep hidden to use if the uprising comes. until then, my armament only has a couple on the hate list, a Marlin Camp carbine in 9mm and a S&W revolver in .45 ACP. My other weapons are two .38 revolvers, a Double 12 GA, and a Marlin Guide gun in 45/70. I feel I can handle any scroungers.
Practice, yes but a lot with your combat ammo.

You don’t say anything about your budget. An inexpensive pump 12 ga would be fine for home defense. If you can afford a little more, a Saiga 12 would be good. As for rifles, something in 7.62x39 is relatively inexpensive to shoot, the ammo is readily available, and decent rifles aren’t expensive. In addition, the 7.62x39 hits harder than .223.

As for a handgun, if it is just a concealed carry weapon or for home defense, get a revolver. They go “bang” every time. I’d suggest one chambered for .357 magnum. With even modestly accurate shot placement, one .357 “bang” is generally sufficient. In addition, you can fire inexpensive .38s from a .357. This means you can afford trips to the range more often.

I’m sure others will have excellent suggestions. Here is a site that has some good prices on some rifles and the Saiga 12.

1. Mossburg 500 Persuader (several models to choose from)
2. AR15- Bushmaster is good enough but if you want to spend a little more get a Colt or LMT and put an Aimpoint or EOTech on it. Or if you really want to get serious mount a NightForce 1-4x.

Get a few thousand rounds of ammo and you are good to go. Get good ammo, not Wolf or Brown Bear. Get Federal or PPU.

NightForce because they are the best (they are not night vision but have an illuminated reticle). Or the new Trijicon, Meopta is good also.
