Thanks, OCC, for posting the picture of the William Warren book on Jim Thompson. I had forgotten all about it, although I now see it’s still on my bookshelf. In any event, this very interesting volume should be required reading for anybody with a serious interest in modern Thailand.

My favorite line of that speech is toward the end where Galt says he’s been speaking for the last hour, and I’m thinking “I don’t think so. It’s just taken me 4 hours to read what you said.” It cracks me up every time I read it.
