Well, that seals his future. Better hope 7-11 is hiring.

Oops.
I have been willing to give him the benefit of the doubt up to now, because his initial defense was not outlandish. Aderal and other drugs used to treat ADHD can (no matter what NASCAR says) cause false positive tests for meth and other forms of “speed”.
However, this does not look good for him at all. If hi own step-mother is telling the truth then it probably won’t be long before other witnesses come forward.

Most people forget that Mark Martin once had a drinking problem that was doing damage in his life.
He cleaned up and he’s out there whooping the kids.

Mayfield alway struck me as the white version of the NBA player who can’t handle going from the bottom to the bigtime.
I know he started as a fabricator.

Shenanigans like this hurt the integrity of the sport.

If it was his mother, I would be more inclined to go along with you. But a step mother might have her own agenda here. I would still like to see a full disclosure.

Seriously, how can you call auto racing of any kind a “sport”. These guys are good drivers, but athletes? I think that depends on your definition of athletics. Same thing for golf, in my opinion.
To: MGMSwordsman
I think that depends on your definition of athletics. Stand next to 50 yr old Mark Martin sometime when he's in street clothes and report back.
To: HiTech RedNeck
Shenanigans like this hurt the integrity of the sport. True but compare to the number of drug probs in NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. It's totally trivial.
To: Gettin Betta
If he has been on Meth for any period of time, it's really miraculous that he didn't hurt himself, or anyone else while in the car.
I wonder if NASCAR has gone back and looked at his wrecks over the last few years.

There is a name for that whole genre of sports. They call it “motorsports.” Car racing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, mud truck pulls, etc. Because a man is in the loop, this is not a mere face-off of robotic machines.

If it’s on ESPN it’s a sport.
