No, maybe I didn’t make myself clear.
I am saying that, when a “Christian” or “Catholic” gets into trouble (rape or molesting or whatever), Christian and Catholics post about it and comment against the twit. They don’t defend it.
Whereas when a “Mormon” gets into trouble like with the recent FLDS scandal we don’t see many, actually any that I can remember, self-described Mormons posting about it and condemning the behavior.
But I don’t know the spiritual lives of all FReepers, and perhaps some FReeper Mormons do condemn the bad “Mormons” but don’t identify themselves as Mormons.
You are missing the point. The FLDS are not Mormons any more than Baptists are Catholics. Why isn't the denomination of this Evangelist being proclaimed, so that all the members of that denomination can be condemned for their beliefs?
Not only are you unjustly lumping Mormons with the FLDS you are implying that that the Mormon beliefs are the same. I am simply doing the same when I now proclaim that Christians are pedophiles. Can you see the equivalence?
Those who know Tony Alamo know that he is a cult leader, not a born again evangelical Christian.
Was wacky even before he holed up in Arkansas. His followers would beg for ca$h at intersections and return it to the “ministry”, while living in poverty.
Last I heard, his deceased wife is still deceased, in spite of his prophecies to the contrary. She died April 8 1982 of cancer and was eventually buried in Tulsa OK.
He is really a very sad story of a Jewish convert to Christianity who lost his way with fame and pride.
I hear what you are saying about FLDS not being Mormons.
I would also say that “evangelists” who “marry” 8 year olds are not really Baptists. And “priests” who molest altar boys aren’t really Catholics.
