Add to that you’re getting the M1 from the government.

It’s the so-called experts who dig up the strange terms which don’t help matters. The NRA claims I’m a rifle expert but I just tell people I’m a student. I defy anyone who could ever claim they know it all. That’s impossible.

That looks like something out of the show ‘Firefly’.

The way I have always thought of it is a revolver has multiple chambers on a revolving cylinder. A Pistol has only one chamber, period.

I haven’t gone to the river for a couple of months. I have some time on my hands so I thought I would start a shooting program for myself. I switched to a Browning High Power instead of the 1911’s for IDPA so I have to get better at it. It doesn’t quite fit my hands so my draw is slower.

Looking forward to the October shoot.

Rails, rails, rails. Always with the rails.

And can you imagine the monthly PM involved with unloading/reloading the mags so the springs don't take a set?

It was Wash’s until Jayne picked it up during the last fight scene in “Serenity”. Check the movie poster on my profile page.

Browning is sweet. I had one in the .22 that was MUCH more accurate than I am.

We've shot together, btw. I had a different handle back then, before I re-enlisted. I still have a bowling pin with a round in it from our excursion.

As far as being 'slow' is concerned... I'm not worried that you are going to get mugged anytime soon. You were pretty damn impressive with your existing skillsets.

i've been to too many gun shops that are just as bad. i hate going into a gunshop and asking for .38 super and getting "corrected" because the guy thinks i want .38 special.

A few years back I asked for 9mm Makarov at Gander Mtn. Pimply faced youth behind the counter laughed at it. I still burn when I think of it. Not the way to treat a customer.

Doesn’t the shot in a .410 shell just tend to piss someone off? I have a derringer with Colt 45 and short .410 capability. I had to inspect the target at less than arm’s length to see the .410 shot. I carry it loaded with Colt 45’s.

Thanks Johnny.

I had to throw a bag of bowling pins out when I cleaned the garage. I need an excuse to go to the river so let me know when you want to go. Just not the third Saturday. That’s IDPA at Terrell 9:00. Come out and join the fun.

Travel back through the badlands of NM is in my immediate future, bills to pay, and all. But thanks for the invite. I may take you up on it, eventually.

I’ts an open invitation. Just let me know in advance. It will be there for awhile, I hope. Unless someone does something stupid. It’s only a matter of time for that to happen.

Someone has set up a range for CCW and there’s new people down there who I don’t know. I was hoping the lack of ammo would discourage some people.

The .410 #4 shot is intended for up close restricted maneuverability use. It is very useful against snakes, with and without legs.

Outside of about 8 feet, I would agree with you and go with .45. You can always load the Judge with one .410 followed by four .45s.

That guy looks pretty short on ammo, to me. Hopefully there is a separate locker full somewhere nearby.
