no problem, I don’t have allegiance to any thread either, just want to talk about the tour. Thanks for the ping!
Naw, that was just a joke that some people took seriously. She would certainly be welcome here — it’s a free country, after all, at least here at FreeRepublic.
That’s because we forgot to let Ready4Freddy know we were over here.
I’m happy to usse R4F’s thread (with no baggage at the beginning of the thread) if everyone wants. Wherever we end up, just ping me as I will be cubicle bound all day and like to watch the thread when possible for updates! Thanks guys and gals, freepers are the best.
Well it looks like we are down to just this thread. Amazing.
We cannot be a week out with 8 seconds between the top 4 and not be able to discuss it here.
I think everyone just needs to hug it out on these issues.
Yes, I guess we are back to here, at least for now.
Hey, we are back here, for now. Although I really liked the comments on the other thread for the little bit we had before it was ruined.
So is Hincapie complaining that he thinks Astana paced the peleton too fast and that made him come in short on the yellow?
WTF happened? Saw the dleted post towrd the end, did someone respond in an inappropriate manner? I did see that the long posts on the first page were deleted...
I was only watching online but it looked like Garmin was the one at fault if anyone was. Having Cav on his team also meant Columbia had to do their best to deal with competing interests in getting George in Yellow and getting Cav back in Green or close to it.
So, I guess the race is over, and Hincapie didn’t take the yellow? I was curious why everybody said Astana didn’t mind Hincapie getting the yellow jersey — why would they want anybody to be in front of them? Or is Hincapie simply not considered a threat?
Apparently, Garmin, too.
Missed by 5”, CWCT.
George can trial, but his team can’t climb like Astana can.
Yeah, I didn’t notice that Astana was driving the peleton. And Columbia seemed to be trying to slow it some in that last 2k, but other riders were passing them.
The guy just said that Astana wanted Nocentini to keep the yellow...
Armstrong just said they wanted to Hincapie to get the yellow.
It’s not like Astana or anyone else can really keep the peleton back.
There are other considerations in the peleton that weren’t in Hincapie’s favor, the green for one.
Well, I was rooting for Hincapie. He has always been a favorite.
Oops, Cavendish got in trouble.
Prelim points are Thor 218, Cav 200. Talk of Cav being relegated because of the dustup in the sprint.
I can see that as Nocentini and AG2R are far less of a threat than Hincapie and Columbia. It is really pretty amazing that Astana has 3 riders in the top 10, Columbia has 2 and Garmin has 2.
