This is the attitude that Kristy McCready, MD of BitterSweet Partnership, wants to change with the multimillion-pound campaign. It is not about encouraging a return to the ladette culture of the 1990s, but an attempt to help beer to shake off its overwhelmingly male image.

“We are encouraging women to have a choice,” she says. “We want to listen to women about what they want, get behind what they want and then speak to the licensed trade. We hope to change the landscape of beer.”

The title of the article, "Why don't women drink beer?"  is obviously a publicity thing since women drink beer.  I guess is a way to get women interested, as the article says, in trying the new ales that brewers are creating aimed at them.

Yep... my brother works in the brewing industry, (Miller Beer) and they have marketed a few beers to attract the women population.

I personally think the smaller micro-breweries do a much better job at making quality beer. (Although I do have a fondness for Guinness come St. Patrick's Day.)
