You do not make threats that you are unwilling to carry out. I’m on the mom’s side here.

Okay, I’ve done this. However I was parked in front of my husband’s place of business and he was preparing to leave, so they had to ride with him.

They’ve been pretty dang good ever since.

Isn’t it horribly ironic that liberals can’t see this kind of situation for what it is?

Who should the legal authorities be concerned about here? The girls, right?

So why are they traumatizing the girls by preventing them from being in contact with their mother?

Yes, Mom snapped and did something very stupid and dangerous, and yes it probably traumatized the girls to a certain degree.

But here comes the government, forcibly seperating the mother from her children.

That will make it all better, won’t it? Morons.

How did she endanger them? She didn’t leave the in the desert with no water. And they aren’t 5 and 6 year old.

10 and 12? I was riding the three miles to hang out at the mall at that age!

I was way to young to remember, but my sister tells the story of when she was driving with friends, and me in the car and I was being a brat. So she put me out on the side of the road and drove up a hundred feet or so. I think it traumatized her more than me to see her kid brother (probably 5 or so?) crying by the side of the road! (Get to hear that story every Christmas!)

She left her children on the side of the road like they were garbage and drove away. It is one thing to punish your children, and quite another to leave them three miles from home with no apparent way to go home. Obviously the older child abandoned the 10 year old too - leaving her alone on city streets.

Empty threats have no place in parenting. I’ll bet the kids take her seriously next time!

The kids had a way home. They are called legs. People should use them more, especially bratty kids.

Do you realize a 10 year old is in the 3rd grade? You’d leave a 10 year old child on a city sidewalk alone?

“the 12-year-old eventually caught up with the mother”

Anybody click the article and notice that part?
Sounds to me like she probably made them get out, then drove up the road.

Ho-hum.

Three miles from home? It appears the 10 year old didn’t know the way home from that corner - And I’d say the spoiled ugly mother is pretty bratty herself

Yeah 3rd and 5th grades...and the 12 year old left the 10 year old alone.

Depends on if mom took off and did not return - leaving these two very young girls in a dangerous situation. I cannot support that. However, if the mom drove off just out of sight, waited a short time, and then returned and ask if they were ready to behave - that I can see.

The 12 year old should be punished for that.

It may turn out that the Mom drove around the corner thinking the girls would come to her - however, once the older one “caught up to her” the younger one wasn’t with her and the Mom still drove home THEN called the police?

Then, the mom made a huge mistake (of course, that also depends upon what kind of neighborhood the younger girl was left in, and how far from home).

The article makes it appear to be a business area three miles from home.
