My thoughts on that....As a regular viewer of American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent, over these many years, you get to know Simon Cowell pretty well. IMO, there was nothing insincere about his initial response...and then his reply about “knowing”, just Cowell being his old “all knowing”, cocky self. Remember, the gal judge had just taken everyone to task for “being against her” and he wasn’t about to be categorized in such a way.
In addition, (and I haven’t read the NYPost story) if the Post has implied that this was all just a set up by Simon, then they are also implying that Boyle was in on it and if nothing else, I certainly can’t see that being the case.
