Take a look at what shows up at a stock tank in dry weather.

How right you are. Only ones I’ve seen were fairly high up in the Huachuca Mountains here on the Az/Mexico border - around 7000’ or so. They traveled in a troop; with their tails up, my brother swore he was watching monkeys!

We had a friendly one down in Bonnie Blink some years back. Amazing monkey tail they have!
They fried themselves with great regularity at the high voltage tower on Scott Peak until insulators were installed.

LOL!!! Some animals aren’t all that smart.
Bonnie Blink?! I lived at what used to be 113 Burt Rd. They changed the addresses when they rebuilt all the housing up there.

Not sure what kind of animal is shown in that last photo... lol looks scary though.
When we lived in West Texas, during bad drought years we would have rattlesnakes following their prey into town. It was not uncommon to hear of someone finding a rattler on their back patio near dog bowls. I guess the field mice were heading toward food/water and the snakes naturally followed.

Any idea of the location, more precise than South Texas, which is a pretty big area?
