There were possibly only nanoseconds between you and the prize ;-D

That's OK. Your prizes sort of scare me.

Yes, Mia Michaels. Her dances were wonderful. Her commentary was... well, it was earthy. LOL! I was really getting into the choreography almost more than the dancing by the end of the series.

Yes, an Adam vs. Allison finale was exactly what I was hoping for! Oh, well. I wasn’t really that surprised that Allison sang so well last night, though. I had thought all along that her only real problem as a performer was just a teensy bit of self-consciousness (common to all of us when we’re 17!). So for her final song, she seemed to just have a “Oh, to h-— with it!” attitude — and then she was tremendous! In any case, I think she’ll have a fine career. I expect to hear great things from her. :)

I am a person who jusges talent on its own not on the sexuality of the singer. Try it. It's called objectivity.

If you're so weak that people can push things down your throat you should work out, get a firearm or hire personal security.

Nothing is so pathetic as an adult who would allow that to happen to themselves.

Oh, I think that deciding that your own opinions make everyone else "pathetic" if they disagree is actually more pathetic, personally.

American Idol is not, never has been, and never will be a "talent show" or a "singing contest". (No matter how many times Randy claims that it is.) If you are judging based solely on that single criteria, then you are missing the point of the show.

American Idol is a marketing contest. They are looking for people who can sell records and fill seats at concert venues. Singing ability is part of that, but only a part. A real star potential is someone who can not only sing (even if only "well enough"), but someone who brings some form of originality and personality that connects with the record- and concert ticket-buying public.

So, comments about how a contestant presents himself or herself are just as relevant as comments about how well they can sing.

So, why don't I like Adam? Because despite his highly-trained vocal ability, I find him to be completely inauthentic as a recording star.

That is, a fake.

From the ridiculous hair dye and style to the extravagant wardrobe to the way he emulates other acts each week, he comes across to me as an actor playing a role, and never the real thing. Give me Allison's genuine lesser vocal ability but much more "real" feel for what she's singing over Adam's well-rehearsed and slick job of pretense every time.

Who is the real Adam Lambert? Nine weeks into the finals competition, and I still don't know that answer. Is he the musical theater guy? Is he trying to resurrect a brand of music that went out of fashion around the time he was born? What originality does he bring to the stage?

In addition to who is Adam as an artist, who is he as a personality? When he talks to Ryan and the judges, he's nice, polite, and humble. But when he performs, he comes across as creepy and slimy. Which one is real? Or are neither of them?

I'm not working for the show. I am providing my opinion about the singing and in some cases backing it up.Lastly, I think he will do well in the demographic the show is aimed at and not with the average freeper, as this thread has indicated.

You also denigrate other posters who have a broader view of the competition, and who also back up their point of view. Please try to remember that as well.

If they are denigrated because I challenge their opinion, they don’t belong on this type of site. And they don’t need your help. Try to remember that.

They are denigrated because you insult them by insinuating that they're bigots. People who engage in that kind of behavior don't belong on this type of site; that's typically the tactic used by a leftist.

And no, they don't need my help. But they have it anyway.

We need a Hell’s Kitchen thread next season.

I picked Paula and Danny for the finals early on and at that point didn’t care who won. But I think I’m pulling for Danny now.

He also got the better team: Giovanni and Ben, vs. Paula getting Andrea and Lacy.

Allison is all set with a career; she has the look, the guts and the voice. She needs to be managed well-song choices and the like-and because of her young age, she could truly be a better listening choice for younger girls, instead of Britney, Christina etc.

I have to disagree on this point. Allison is not going to be a pop singer. Little girls aren't going to listen to her. HOPEFULLY, she is going to be in a band a-la Flyleaf or Evanescence. If she joins a rock band, or forms one like Daughtry, she will absolutley rule the rock world for a few years (see Evanescence/Amy Lee).

If they are denigrated that is their problem. They chose their response. They are adults. I made a factual comment based upon their posts. If they think they're bigots, then that's their problem, but in fact it is you who are bringing up that conclusion.

Some of them had hurt feelings and passed around a freepmail to shun me, just like kids in school. Please feel free to join them.

It is busy bodies like you and people who are too weak to defend themselves who may want to consider what they're doing on this site.

Now, how long do you want to keep this up?

Wow... you are so self-deluded. And for someone who’s still a relative “newbie”, you have a lot of gall saying who belongs at this site.

If you are being shunned, it is because you are bringing it upon yourself by being obnoxious and confrontational when you don’t have to be. I don’t care how you choose to characterize your posts, they come across as nasty and judgmental. And don’t try to duck responsibility — you have called anyone who doesn’t like Adam a bigot via implication.

There are plenty of posters who disagree with each other on this thread. There’s no problem with that, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. But the questioning of someone’s motivations (especially in such an insulting manner) is beyond the pale, and that’s what makes you an outcast among the group here.

I’m not a “busy body”. I think a look at my posting history will demonstrate that. What I do think, from your comments such as “people who are too weak to defend themselves” and “how long do you want to keep this up?” that you simply looking to argue because you like to argue, or that you have a particular ax to grind.

Frankly, I don’t care either way.

Now, I could keep this up for as long as you’d like, and then some. However, you bore me more than you annoy me. If the site had an “ignore” feature, you’d be on it right now... so let’s just pretend that such a feature does exist, which will explain why I will ignore anything further from you.
