Eh, give Australia a chance, I promise it’s NOTHING like Moulin Rouge, especially the trippy incoherence that was the first 10 or 15 minutes... I swear you have to be high to enjoy certain parts of that movie.
Although, one thing I noticed is that women seem to like Australia way, way more than men. My mom and sister and I went to see it, and we absolutely loved it, and it’s usually a great ‘date’ movie. And, it doesn’t seem 3 hours long...
I am not making assumptions about your son rather the fair they have been fed for the past 15 - 20 years out of Hollywood - bound to numb the brain somewhat in regards to whats a good movie or not
I also have to apologize, I a was a real crank this morning and that is how I responded......
No Probs a reread of mine made me realise it could be taken 2 ways!
Blessings
Mel
Hope your day improves:)
Sounds like a bit of a toss up from this guy!
While the Catholic Church did have a bit to do with Aboriginal children they did not rmove them from their parents but rather took care of them after the government took them away. Anglican and other Protestant denominations probably had more to do with these children that the Catholic Church.
I think the Chruches as a whole get a bad rap for this although it is what tends to happen when the church and state are a little bit too pally. In my own state the Government of the time tended to be full of Anglicans and Methodists.

Wife and son saw it ... and hated it. Their comment: a great idea that suffered from a trite, formulaic treatment ... and an apparent lack of any idea of how to end it.
My day is already better....I went for a walk, finished up a few things that have been hanging over my head and the we are in for some cooler weather.....
thanks

I have it at home on BluRay. At 2 hours and 45 minutes it had better be wonderful, but why do I think it won’t be.
