Ping sionnsar if you see a Washington state related thread.
I have friends that live there. It’s pretty country...
I used to enjoy reading 3 newspapers a day. Now I rarely read any. I do cheer them going away since they are all so one sided. Good riddance.
And while we’ re at it...
The AJC...
True story - When our Blue-crowned conure died we no longer needed the Seattle Times to line his gage. We cut down to the only paper we even bothered reading which was the Sunday edition. Now that the Sunday paper has been trimmed back to just a shadow of its former self, looking more like the M-F papers, the only use we have for it is my Wife likes to go through the ads, and I use the plastic baggy the paper comes in to scoop up after my dog. I'm now trying to convince my Wife she can survive without the weekly ads, and as for my dog I can train him to poop just on the lawns that once held an Obama yard sign.
When I was in high school the demarcation was pretty clear - the lefties had the Seattle PU and the rest of us read the Seattle Times.
Times change and the Seattlunatics took control of virtually everything. The PU pushed the hard left envelope and dragged the Times along with it.
Neither one is worth the paper they’re written on and the sooner gone the better...
Pity. I could live in Seattle.
What a bunch of journalcyst crybabies!
30 years wearing grooves in the floor talking smack about a world they only glimpse through a window on the bus 40 minutes a day - and they probably had their seats picked out there, too.
Welcome to the real world, jokers. Wait'll you get a good look around at the degradation you've wrought on our society, and enjoy your adventure discovering the "fair value" that society thinks your skills are worth.
Y'all been Marked to Market now!
The alternative newspaper The Stranger. I'm only partly kidding. Aside from the Dan Savage gay sex columns and the boy-meets-sheep personal ads it actually does have an interesting article or two. This One, for example, about the next step for the staff of the PI. It's pretty good reporting for an alternative rag.
It would appear that the online version of the PI is going to be on the Free Republic model. I am absolutely not making that up. Story postings, links, comments.
This has some interesting implications. All the guff we've heard about "professional" journalists being able to do this oh so much better then us pajama-clad upstarts will get a real-world test. It will be interesting until the venture capital runs out. (The article makes the interesting point - unconfirmed - that the Huffington Post is still running on venture capital; i.e. it's subsidized by a sugar daddy for its survival).
One note for anyone clicking on the link - if you wander from the story not everything you find will be work-safe.
I was just going to post to the question about there being any alternate to the yellow journalistic rags, and came up with the "Stranger"!
Glad I read down to the end of the thread!
