Examine US occupational risk stats.
Crop dusting is number one..
FARMING is number two...
Policeman is somewhere way down the list.
If this story had been about a man in his twenties getting raided on a falsified warrant, the story about finding pot on him would likely have been believed and no further investigation would have been done.
Ranging from 5 years to 10? That’s it? They should shoot for at least 20 (no pun intended).
I’m confident I could out-shoot at least 95% of the cops in NYC.
I know this didn’t take place here, but I’m a better than these hacks.
I was thinking more along the lines of 30 or so.
Hahahaha
How is crop dusting so high, along with farming?
Thirty is fine with me.
Statistics have been observed that show armed citizens shoot fewer shots, and are more accurate, than cops when it comes to armed confrontations.
These JBT’s almost got away with it, and would have if the “snitch” that they said had given them the information hadn’t had a conscience and came forward and told everyone that the cops were full of Barbara Streisand. Then the only justice that could have ever been hoped for is if the guilt gnawed at them and they had an “accident” while cleaning their firearm. I bet there are a great many “Kathryn Johnstons” behind cop gun cleaning accidents.
‘cause they’re both really dangerous?
Powerlines I would suppose.
“If I were on an Atlanta jury, I would have a hard time convicting anyone of drug dealing or possession knowing that the cops will bring their own bags of drugs to plant if they don’t find any in your possession.”
It used to be common and probably still is. About 1967 or 1968 I saw my friends shop was being raided, after the cops left I asked my friends what had happened and they said that earlier that day a man had come in and seen that they weren’t out front and he pitched something behind a set of drawers, having watched him through a hole that they used to watch the store out front, they retrieved a matchbox of pot that he had planted, during the raid a few hours later the cops had gone straight to that now empty place.
Back then a seed could get you a life sentence in Texas, the matchbox was plenty enough to send them to prison if it had been found.
Crop dusting is so high, you cannot buy insurance, at any price. Too many power lines out there.
Farming is high, because of the heavy machinery involved, and because most farmers are operating on margin - they take shortcuts.
But don’t take my word for it - look up the OSHA stats. Might have changed since I last looked at them.
Your friend moved the pot they had planted?
They were even doing that crap back then?
Rank Occupation Death rate per 100,000 Total deaths
1 Tower erectors/climbers 183.6 18
2 Fishers and fishing workers 141.7 51
3 Aircraft pilots 87.8 101
4 Logging workers 82.3 64
5 Structural iron and steel workers 61.0 36
6 Refuse and recyclable material collectors 41.8 38
7 Farmers and ranchers 37.1 291
8 Electrical power line installers/repairers 34.9 38
9 Roofers 33.9 82
10 Driver/sales workers and truck drivers 27.1 940
Yep, it changed. Note the pilot stat - #3 - is almost entirely crop dusters.
Also note that police officer is not even in the top 10.
What we've got here is, a failure to communicate.
It used to be much worse, the beatings were common and brutal, drop guns were much more common back then as well, back then you were rarely charged with carrying a gun because the cops would confiscate it and let you go so that they didn’t have to turn it in.
If you read a lot of old books you will notice that people have always been afraid of our police.
I think that cops are probably better now than they have ever been, as unbelievable as that might strike some people on these threads, and yes, that is a little scary, but it is getting better partly for the same reasons that technology is closing in on the non cop criminals.
They still play their games, say has anyone seen any of the footage shot on the camera/phones confiscated by the BART cops when they shot that handcuffed guy in cold blood??? No?? Shocking.
Once, after the killing, he takes part in planting false evidence and suborning perjury from a police snitch, he becomes a full partner in the crime.
