I had to turn the Oscar show off after they kept showing movie clips of Sean Penn kissing another man.
Hollywood loves to push homo stuff.
Decided to just read this thread instead.

Now HERE’S a Great American—Jerry Lewis.
What a guy! I still enjoy watching his old movies on TV.
God Bless him!

It used to just be independent movies that were all about gay cowboys eating pudding, now it’s in mainstream movies as well.

Most Best Picture winners tend to be fairly conservative (Schindler;'s List, Forrest Gump, Braveheart, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, Gladiator, Return of the King...).
But hey you've got yourself in a pleasing fit of indignation. Why confuse it with facts? Look up some ten year old Tim Robbins or Sean Penn quote and use it as proof that movies are all evil incarnate. It makes for good boarding. :-)

yes, my first movie favorites were Martin and Lewis. As a kid, I was puzzled when they broke up.

Yes, and not only in the movies, but on television also.
Sad. People don’t know the difference between right and wrong anymore.

I’d add from this year, Slum Dog, Button, Dark Night. I guess those raving liberal movies should be boycotted.

That was an exception. And one of the worst films to ever win BP.

If theres a bad book or a bad song do you think the entire publishing or music industry is bad?A) I don't think the book industry goes to the lengths the movie industry goes to to slap itself on the back like the movie industry does.
B) If this was a thread about the Grammys, I probably would be doing the same thing. The recording industry is just as anti-American as the movie industry.
Except for country music of course. And Gospel. And contemporary Christian. Those I'm fine with.

“Seven Samurais” is on Tues. night on Turner Classics. I’ve never seen it. It will be interesting to see his early work.I loved “Derzu Uzala”. It made me cry.

She was actually prety badly treated by a variety of people she trusted and was determined not to spoil her own children.

Ran is awesome.
Better than any of the films nominated tonight.
It's a travesty that it didn't win Best Foreign Film Oscar.

IMHO, “The Lives of Others”, a German film was better than any of Best Picture winners this decade.

Interesting that Lewis made a short, succinct humble acceptance speech. I thought he might hang around the mic awhile. He did a good job.
