I used the upper left icon thingy in Word from Office 2007 to call up the most recent UFO PING LIST Word text used the last time.

Your screen name was NOT in any of the levels.

I can’t imagine how you got pinged or had reason to think/feel you were pinged.

The names are alphabetical and go like this:

Military Aircraft Spotted Hovering Over My Neighborhood.

Hello fellow ATSers,

I need some advice with a situation. On Halloween 2007 I was walking down a street in my neighborhood. I was with my sister and we were taking some kids out to get candy. The sky was just turning to dusk so it was still a little light out. There were people out and all over with their kids of course. I looked down the street and noticed over the neighborhood there was a bright orange glow in the sky just a few hundred feet off the ground directly above the houses.

I watched it perplexed as it sat frozen glowing in the sky. I wondered if it were a comet or something but it did not move. I mentioned to it to the girl I was walking with. She was confused by it as well. So for the next 7-10 minutes it took us to walk down this long street we observed as this bright glowing object sat motionless and silent in the sky.

As we rounded the bottom of the street there stood a group of about 25 people standing in a circle all staring up at the object the was just a few streets over in the sky. This is what made me laugh to myself. All of them said nothing, made no comments and none verbally acknowledged what they all were looking at. It was so weird! At this point I am kicking myself and cursing under my breath for not bringing my camcorder that sat fully charged at home.

Then the object stopped glowing bright orange and I could see it was a dark structured craft. It still sat silently in the sky. The object then turned on a bright white light and began to move silently on the adjacent streets to where we were walking. I never took my eye off it.

The craft then turned and approached the street we were now walking up. I watched it get closer and still heard nothing. The craft flew directly over us and we saw it was a dark triangular or chevron shaped craft. The white strobe lighting that flickered from side to side in the back like the night ryder car made it difficult to see that part. There were 2 blue lights on each the left and right tip. One white light in the front. As it flew over it made only a light windy “whooshing” sound.

After that I tried to do searches to see if I could find a craft capable of hovering silently, glowing bright orange, and hovering for such an extended period of time. I have found none and no examples on video websites either. So, please if you have seen this as well, please share your information.

Now, I have seen this happen several other times while driving at night. Same scenario, only I haven’t seen that bright orange glow again yet. The last sighting was I was driving and saw through the trees ahead of me 3 bright white lights stationary at a 90 degree slant. I located and drove to where these lights were hovering .

Above an apartment complex again in my neighborhood there was a craft hovering silently just a few hundred feet off the ground. It had the bright white light on the front really bright. After I sat and watched it hover for about 5 minutes it turned on unsuspecting “normal FAA” lights and began to move. I can not be sure of the shape of this craft because it was fully dark,

My theory is this is Military or Government, although ET’s can not be completely ruled out. Now I live in a safe neighborhood with normal nice average people.

My Questions:

Why is the Government or Military Hovering over my neighborhood?

What are they doing? Why take such an expensive aircraft to my neighborhood?

Has anyone else seen this and do you know why they do this?

How is this aircraft able to hover for so long in silence, and what was that orange light?

My goal right now is to get this event happening on film.

Famous LIFE Photographers' Roswell Crash Revelation by Anthony Bragalia

Famed Life magazine photographer Allan Grant may have provided to us his greatest "picture" just before he died. The cameraman's portrait of the Roswell crash in 1947 illustrates that the event that summer was of urgent importance to the military. It also shows that the skyfallen object was in fact of a genuine "unknown."

With his passing last year, Allan Grant has been rightly elevated to legendary status in the world of journalistic photography. For decades Mr. Grant was a permanent member of the prestigious Life photographic staff. He captured on film some of the most recognizable images in history. Grant's legacy includes such memorable work as the first-ever public picture of Lee Harvey Oswald's wife Marina (taken after Lee's capture) to the haunting, last-ever picture of Marilyn Monroe. His work's "movie still" clarity, his many Life cover shots and his photographic studies were a gift left to all of us.

But Allan's best chronicle was left before he died- and surpasses any captured image of a politician or an entertainer that he ever took. His greatest gift to history was his revelation that he was involved in the Roswell saga- and his confirmation that what crashed in New Mexico those many years ago was not of a balloon or a secret aircraft experiment, but of an Unidentified Flying Object!

In 1997, Mr. Grant had written a very brief Letter to the Editor of the Los Angeles Times. Allan was upset after having read in the LA Times of the second Roswell "debunking" report issued by the USAF that year. In the letter he was somewhat cryptic- but adamant that he knew that Roswell was not what the Air Force was reporting as a balloon project. He explained that he had a personal experience fifty years prior that had left a life-long impression on him. It also left no doubt in his mind whatsoever that something "very significant" had happened.

In online researching archived newspapers this author became aware of Grant's Letter to the Editor only last year, in 2008. Hoping that Mr. Grant was still alive and able to relate more, I tracked him down and emailed him.

Unfortunately Mr. Grant was very ill. As it turned out, Allan only lived for three more months after we began corresponding, passing at age 88. His wife Karin (also a Life magazine employee for many years) helped to facilitate these communications and she also replied with her own assessments about the Roswell event as she was "Mrs. Grant" back in 1947.

In early July of 1947 Allan stated that he had received an urgent call from his Life Editor in New York- "You have to get to Roswell, NM, and fast!"

All Allan was told at the time was that a very large "meteor" had apparently crashed "outside the Roswell area" and that the Army Air Force was attempting to recover the crashed object. Mr. Grant (and Mrs. Grant) maintained that the relationship between the US military and Life magazine at the time was "very strong and deeper than people will ever know."

In fact, Allan Grant said that the Army Air Force had informed his Editor that they would even provide an officer pilot from the Air Force who would personally fly Allan out there and put him in the vicinity of the crash to visually document the "meteor" event.

From Los Angeles, Grant was flown to Albuquerque, NM. Once there he was greeted by a US Army Air Force pilot officer named Major Charles Phillips. Grant stated that they both then boarded a "military training plane" (a single engine trainer) and departed. They later landed on a makeshift runway- a dirt landing strip. When they alighted the plane, Grant was handed a loaded semi-automatic pistol by Major Phillips. Disturbed, Allan asked of the Major "what the hell do I need that for?" Phillips replied that his orders were to see that Grant was armed with a weapon. When Grant asked of Phillips "Against what?" Phillips replied "we don't know!"

Something seemed very strange about all of this to Grant. They then got into a jeep and began driving, seemingly on a "wild goose chase." But they never located a thing! No meteor, nothing. Allan could not understand why they could not find it, and the Major was oddly being of little help in trying to understand why this was so.

But we learn from Allan's widow Karin Grant that there was a reason for this strange scenario having played out in the desert those many years ago. She and her husband discussed his strange flight to New Mexico for many years after. Both had agreed that there were one of three reasons why Allan was taken out there-

1) Allan said, "Of course we never found the big "meteor' and I wonder whether or not we had arrived too early or too late."

2) He also thought that "perhaps we landed in the wrong place."

3) Ultimately though, the Grants decided that the best explanation was that "the government knew all along that there was something more than a meteor that had crashed- and what better way to deal with it than to "invite" the prestigious Life magazine to come take a look."

Grant's widow continues, "You take them someplace near -but not exactly to- the spot. Show the world there's nothing there- and everybody is happy and relieved, and you can go about your business." She believes that "perhaps they thought you could keep other media out of there if need be by saying that Life has already been there, and they found nothing." And she was right- no mainstream media reported on the event after the first wire stories based on military press releases.

Before Allan died, he told Karin that he always believed that he was "used" by the military as a "potential cover" to in some way obfuscate something. He told her that the "something" what he had always thought -even at the time- was much bigger- an unidentified flying object.

So incensed was Allan about the event -and the Air Force's 1990's reports that explained away the crash as that of a balloon crash and dummy drop- that he felt compelled to write to the LA Times. It was after he read the Air Force Roswell reports that he knew they were lying. It was then that he got the sinking, knowing feeling that Roswell was real. It was a UFO that had crashed to the desert floor decades ago.

This author decided to see if there ever was a "Major Charles Phillips" as alluded to by Grant. If so, what things was this Major associated with during his years of service in the Air Force? The answer was found in reviewing the records of the now-defunct civilian UFO organization NICAP.

Incredibly, Major Phillips -just one month after the Roswell crash- would become one of the US Air Force's first official UFO researchers! Phillips teamed with famed astronomer Dr. Lincoln LaPaz from the University of New Mexico. Together they would lead what they termed "ground survey teams" to investigate the mysterious -and still unexplained- "Green Fireball" sightings that plagued New Mexico for the next several years!

Well, after i saw this thread and other threads where people report increasing UFO sightings in different parts of the world, i couldn't resist any longer to report my very recent sightings at my home place too.

It seems that my town, Agios Nikolaos in Crete, Greece has become a UFO hotspot as well, since the 6th of July this year.

Recently i see light orbs and other unexplainable (light) appearances on the evening and night sky above Ag. Nik. (more than 1 each night!), which i haven't seen / noticed before.

This UFO flap seems to have started on the 6th of this month, when Agios Nikolaos experienced dramatic power blackouts in various parts of the town, which lasted till the early morning hours of the 7th. The first blackout occured at about 22:00 in the part of the town where i live (town center), at the exact moment when me and my dauthers saw a bright shining white orb flying directly over our heads. Later that night my brother saw a UFO outside of the hotel where he works at (doing night shifts).
The blackouts were caused by underground power cables being burned through for some unknown yet reason - thats what the power company told me when i phoned them the next morning. A few days later my brother saw that the ground in the center of the town has been dug up, from where they have pulled out those burned cables, which were laying on the side of the road and which, according to my bro, looked completely burned and carbonized

Also, only 2 days after that night (on the 8th), i heard from a colleague of mine that she, her family and possibly many other citizens of the nearby village "Limnes" (where she lives) saw a UFO last evening hovering obove the village, which had a circular shape and was decorated with several lights, along its edge. It moved back and forth a few times in a swinging-like move before it suddenly disappeared (dematerialized)!

Now, the orbs / UFOs me and some other people i know saw during the last 14 nights, include:

- "Moving stars". Some seem to fly quite high (smaller dots, less bright - some of which could very well be sats), some others though seem to fly lower (brighter lights, some as bright as the brightest stars), and they fly with varying speed and a little zig-zag, as if they were drunk Some of them suddenly appear on the sky out of nothing, some suddenly disappear, some even blink or pulsate in strange irregular patterns, while they slowly float across the sky or stay stationary. Many of those lights follow a certain route, cooming from the south, flying (mostly low) over Agios Nikolaos and disappearing over the Mirabello Bay.
I saw how 1 orb lit up almost directly above my head. It was stationary while it gradualy became brighter and brighter within a time span of about 3 seconds, then it started to fly away, and while it was moving away, it faded out again, as if it noticed me watching it and it wanted to hide from me again - pretty spooky.

- Streaks of bright light. Can be described as horizontally placed truncated lightning, but its not usual lightning because no clouds and thunderstorms around anywhere near the place.

- Physical circular shaped crafts, that suddenly dematerialize (what my colleague saw).

Definately something weird is going on above our heads lately. I def. see things / UFOs now that weren't there before, especialy the obvious ones, the low flying bright ones!

Wherever you are in the world, folks, keep your eyes open and fixed on the sky while you're outside these days, it might be worth it

A statement on a new documentary on the Apollo 11 Moon missions has broken a long silence by United States Astronauts on the reporting of UFOs. The documentary quotes Buzz Aldrin as stating without reservation that the Astronauts saw a UFO that paced them for a time during their journey to the Moon.

This information was kept secret by NASA for all of these years. This is an extremely important revelation for UFO believers, and hopefully a nudge for non-believers. The documentary shows us a short piece of UFO footage taken from "later" NASA missions, but says that the object is similar to what the three Astronauts of Apollo 11 saw.

Aldrin, of course, was not able to discuss the UFO on an open microphone during the mission. During the documentary interview, however, he states:

"There was something out there, close enough to be observed, and what could it be? Now, obviously the three of us weren't going to blurt out, 'Hey, Houston, we've got something moving alongside of us and we don't know what it is, you know?'"

There have been a number of images, both still and moving of the Astronauts on the Moon, and other NASA missions which seem to show UFOs, and as we know Astronaut Gordon Cooper was open about seeing unknowns on numerous occasions.

According to a taped interview by J. L. Ferrando, Major Cooper said:

"For many years I have lived with a secret, in a secrecy imposed on all specialists in astronautics. I can now reveal that every day, in the USA, our radar instruments capture objects of form and composition unknown to us. And there are thousands of witness reports and a quantity of documents to prove this, but nobody wants to make them public."

In December 1965, Gemini astronauts James Lovell and Frank Borman also saw a UFO during their second orbit of their record-breaking 14 day flight. Borman reported that he saw an unidentified spacecraft some distance from their capsule. Gemini Control, at Cape Kennedy told him that he was seeing the final stage of their own Titan booster rocket. Borman confirmed that he could see the booster rocket all right, but that he could also see something completely different.

During James Lovell's flight on Gemini 7:

Lovell: BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.

Capcom: This is Houston. Say again 7.

Lovell: SAID WE HAVE A BOGEY AT 10 O'CLOCK HIGH.

Capcom: Gemini 7, is that the booster or is that an actual sighting? Lovell: WE HAVE SEVERAL...ACTUAL SIGHTING.

Donald Slayton a Mercury astronaut revealed in an interview he had seen UFOs in 1951:

On July 17, 1962 Major Robert White reported a UFO during his fifty-eight-mile high flight of an X-15.

On May 11, 1962 NASA pilot Joseph Walker said that one of his tasks was to detect UFOs during his X-15 flights. He had filmed five or six UFOs during his record breaking fifty-mile-high flight in April, 1962.

Eugene Cernan was commander of Apollo 17. In a Los Angeles Times article in 1973 he said, about UFOs:

"...I've been asked (about UFOs) and I've said publicly I thought they (UFOs) were somebody else, some other civilization."

Irregardless of the other Astronauts' admissions, Aldrin's statement seems to be an omen of a kind, possibly heralding in a new era of disclosure to the public. I only hope that others will follow his lead, and open up the doors of secrecy that guard what our government knows about UFOs.

The documentary quotes Buzz Aldrin as stating without reservation that the Astronauts saw a UFO that paced them for a time during their journey to the Moon.

And Buzz continued, without any mysterious asides, that it turned out to be a chunk of their own spacecraft. This has been pointed out almost as many times as the claim itself has been made.

I haven’t followed that issue all that closely over the years.

I had in the back of my mind that Buzz was not helpful to DISCLOSURE but I’d forgotten the specifics.

I also recalled that I didn’t think much of his candor.

The only purported recollections of Buzz Aldrin was that he reported that a UFO followed the Apollo 11 spacecraft. Besides some thirdhand reports of remarks by Gordo Cooper, no astronauts have ever recounted any alien craft, alien presence on the Moon, etc. There are plenty of reports of UFO sightings, including sightings of craft occupants, but that's all we're likely to have in our lifetimes.

Dr Mitchel reported such but mostly from his colleagues and none on his flights in Apollo, IIRC.
