absolutely. It’s my big pet peeve with FreeRepublic that when some here don’t agree with a performer’s politics, they suddenly are relegated to “talentless” status. Just wishing so and saying so doesn’t make it so.

I suspect Springsteen is an idol to people who were teenies in the ‘70’s. I don’t find him very interesting. His songs are weak, his music doesn’t rock, his lyrics are often incomprehensible, and the back-up sounds like pop pap. His onstage persona can be entertaining, but that’s about it.

To each his own Hildy. Are you the only one here entitled to an opinion? Or must we agree with yours only? I didn't say they laughed...I said I laughed. And I don't have to justify my comment any more than you need to justify yours.

Bruce Springsteen has no vocal talent. It’s a fact.

>>I was waiting for him to sing Born in the USA. Content
>>no longer applies.
Reasons he didn’t sing it.
[ ] His disdain toward the US.
[ ] It was politically incorrect because the SB is an international event.
[ ] All of the above.

I just call it as I see it and when I see idiocy, I point it out.

It’s an anti-war song.
It’s Obama’s war now

Have you ever actually listened to the lyrics of Born in the USA? It’s an anti USA song.

I never liked his music, not even in the 1970’s. Can’t believe he’s considered a top performer. I didn’t watch him last night either.
