Once all my clothes were made by hand, Now Im a cut price person in a low budget land. Im on a low budget Ill have you all know Were on a low budget Im on a low budget]
Want off the Low Budget Ping list? Lemme know.
Our monetary system is not based on spending.
It is based on debt.
And there is plenty of debt and repayment of debt and new debt to keep our system afloat.
I am not a “spender” either, except on the things we absolutely need and things of value (to me, mainly books).
Isn’t there already some ongoing thread this with same theme?
If there is, I was not aware.
Have you considered “oversighting” your taxes?
If I remember correctly, it’s a long thread about cooking gardening, conserving, alternative energy, etc. Maybe I’ll run across it.
Here’s the one I was talking about. It deals primarily with gardening, food and cooking.

One of my favorite songs from the ‘70s and now, back in style.
Like the global warming scam, only the fools and leftists believe and teach in their greed, ambition, overspending and self indulgence that has helped destroy our economy. It should be stated that thriftiness is what keeps prices down and overspending is a large part at the root of the problem that caused the meltdown; the other part being moral corruption that puts the individuals truth over the truth of God and His only begotten son Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour.
Thriftiness is a wonderful way to live and denies the arrogance of greed and all the associated woes of overspending.
We are right there with you. This internet connection is about the only luxery I allow myself and I have convinced my husband that the $17.99 is way cheaper than Prozac. ;o)
Seriously, we can and freeze, I do dry clothes indoors but only because my daughter has severe allergies and she was miserable for three months until we figure her clothes were doing it, poor thing.
So I will think about other ways we save money.
Do you have kids? If not, I won’t bother studying that part.
Maybe we should join the Ahmish. Until this blows over. By June unemployment will be 20%. They are in a death spiral and taking us with em.
Hey! I’d like to be on that low budget ping list!
Thanks
So right you are!!
Instead of making do on the money we make, we should go into debt to our ears!
That way the companies we are screwing ourselves over for, can hire people they bring in on visas from other countries!
oversighting my taxes? I am not a tax expert, but I have noticed that any “stimulus” tax credit I receive is going to go directly to the State of Michigan. Big ol stimulus is in my view a bailout for the states.
Good idea for a thread.
I am also a thrifty person and don’t believe that our economy runs on spending - it was supposed to be about saving.
I live on a sailboat for around $1000.00 per month - I can do better I think.
To have any faith whatsoever in the Federal Government at this point is insane. I am back working on my super secret escape plan. This house of cards is coming down.
thank you, I have looked at it now, I’m new, I didn’t know
PS
Please add me to the ping list.
I’ll get a list figured out, but you’re on it. Yeah, have two kids freshman and 6th grader. I remember reading a book about 12 years ago about being thrifty. It was wayyyyyy to much work. Wayyyyyy tooooo much planning. Would require wayyyy too much storage and filing. I’m not that way. However, I know we are better off than many that make more than us.
