Happy Lord's Day Everyone!

Snowing here. Going to Bill's church (Congregational in Hudson) this AM where they will give him a "send off".. then a small work party at his apt to pack, clean etc. I feed them at 3:30 & then they are free to leave!

Bill's party last night was better than I thought. Over the years I went occasionally to singles events & found them unpleasant at best. This was mostly couples & in general nicer people.. One of the ladies was having a birthday party & when she heard about Bill's departure, she included him & his swan song - more or less.

He was over an hour late. At 8:30 I called him at home & he answered(obviously been sleeping) & I told him we were missing him at his party (started at 8)

I didnt' really know people so labeling was easy. Met Lois the birthday girl & knew Jack, boyfriend of one of Bill's neighbors but she was not there - flu.

Here is the Picasa link for you if you want to see the pix. You might get a kick out of Bill's dancing. Pretty good for an 83 year old twisted up with osteoporosis & shingles

I am in two of pix.. took about 150 or so & weeded down to 40or so for editing & inclusion.

His teeth situation - very bad. Spent a fortune (for him & me) at the Dental college over 2 years & now can hardly talk or chew .. two plates. His sons are upset (they paid for it) & he is frustrated. He had no teeth for 5 days while they tried to do a better job, got them Friday PM & they made it much worse for him & that was the last visit. They suggested he contact a dentist in NJ since he is leaving area. Another problem with the son's railroading him quickly out of Ohio

If I told you how long I worked to get that to work, you wouldn’t believe it. What messed me up was the width and height....then I re-read Billie’s directions about making the width and image a bit smaller, etc. (I can’t explain)...Anyway, you all do understand. There is still a small flaw in it....LOL!

Choosing The Hard Thing
We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair. —2 Corinthians 4:8

On September 12, 1962, President John F. Kennedy delivered a speech at Rice University in Houston, Texas, about the difficult challenges facing the nation. He also shared his passion for the United States to place a man on the moon.

In balancing the needs of his people with the desire to conquer space, Kennedy said, “We choose to go to the moon in this decade. We choose to go to the moon and do the other things, not because they are easy but because they are hard.” The nation responded. Seven years later, Neil Armstrong took a “giant leap for mankind” in July of 1969, by walking on the moon.

Today’s world is filled with energy-saving devices that make life easier, but there is something to be said for embracing life’s challenges. The apostle Paul found serving Christ hard, but he didn’t see it as a cause for discouragement. He continued to focus on Christ, and wrote, “We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair” (2 Cor. 4:8). Paul knew that “He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you” (v.14). The goal was worth the pain.

By the grace of God, may we commit to serving Jesus—not just when it’s easy, but when it’s hard.

I may be back later...today is a birthday party for Addyson and I haven't gotten her gift yet. I would rather just give a gift of money but I will try the gift thing one more time. I would like to stay home. Sun is out now and things are looking better outside. May get to see you later in the day! I will try to catch a butterfly for you!

Good morning, MEG. What a striking image that is of the ocean and the gulls against that sky.

A blessed Sunday to you too!
