When did I insult anyone here on this forum, I would never insult anyone. People have every right to their opinion, I’m just saying people shouldn’t rush to judgment without hearing all the facts out of the horses mouth so to speak. I don’t care who it is, I don’t believe sources or pure speculation, I rely on the facts, out of the person’s own mouth
Well then what exactly is Sarah asking for the money for?
Please, no bashing, no troll hunts. I suppose if six years ago I’d said “Bush is spending too much money” then I would have been called a left-wing troll, now it’s the prevailing opinion.
At this point I don't care which person is affiliated with what party. This stimulus package needs to be defeated and that has to be our main focus.
I absolutely 10000 percent agree with you!! If they started from scratch and fixed this bill so that it would truly boost the economy, and help improve infrastructure in states that need it badly, I would be all for it. Right now this bill contains too much pork, stuff that we don’t even need that will NOT boost the economy at all, just worthless crap
Perhaps you did not intend to do so, but you've made comments on this thread that relate directly to anyone who has spoken of what they heard earlier on Fox about Palin's support of the stimulus. You used words like nonsense and smear in relation to folks who are simply trying to discuss and determine the truth. You pretty much said that we didn't know of what we spoke because we 'rely on the TV media' and 'believe what we read'. That is always intended as an insult when written on this forum, please don't try to pretend that it isn't.
She’s not asking for money. She is talking to them because whatever infrastructure money Alaska gets, they need exemptions from the timelines. They won’t be able to start this stuff in 90 to 120 days. She said she wants to make sure things like that are clear.
Okay ... we’ve reached common ground and I’m going to consider that a good thing and back out of this thread. Good night.
With all due respect, several articles, quotes and excerpts from the letter she wrote to her Senators have been posted tonight and ignored. Instead people repeat the story the AP wrote that Fox is repeating. Either by choice or because they....rely on the media and believe nothing else, including the Governors own words.
Really? Seem to me it is for natural gas pipeline that brings the gas to 48 States. Will not help Hawaii and Alaska is in the works for another gas line for the State on their own. Real selfish of her to want something worthwhile for the nation.

Although it is beyond my purview as Governor, I also urge you to consider how
the economic stimulus package will affect the national debt and the future economic
health of the country. The need for economic stimulus should not become an excuse for
the continuation of the unsound policies of the past. The nation’s economy will never
achieve long-term stability if we continue borrowing hundreds of billions of dol1ars
from foreign countries, all the while Simultaneously sending huge amounts of money overseas to OPEC countries for oil that could be produced domestically. In this regard,
[ am astounded by amounts of a trillion dollars and more that are currently being
discussed in some quarters.
I believe our nation is truly at an economic crossroads. Properly constructed, the
economic stimulus package will greatly assist in sending our country down the right
road. Without question, you will be called upon to make very difficult decisions on
behalf of Alaska and the nation, and I want to assure you of the cooperation of my
administration in achieving the best possible result. Toward this end, I have asked my
Washington, D.C. office to follow up with your respective staffs on our
recommendations.
What she is asking for will create jobs for people who then pay taxes back to the government... not money for ACORN and the like, which is what 97% of the current stimulus bill contains... currently the senate is taking it up and if they will get smart and re-write it to stimulate then she needs to make certain Alaska is included. I have no problem with that.... my problem is with the pork spending in the bill.
They’ve always tended left in their general news staff.. made up by Hannity and now Beck. I’ve notice Bill O’Reilly leaning more right lately... he is fed up with the thieves on wall street that stole a huge amount of his money.
I like Glenn Beck, I think he is right on the money. I used to dislike O’Reilly especially during his kissing of Obama’s butt during that interview he did with him, but I have noticed that he is beginning to slightly slant towards the right, perhaps the threat of the Fairness Doctrine really has him pissed off and isn’t gonna take it lying down. He along with Beck both said they are for the Infrastructure portion of the bill. If they fixed this bill in order to REALLY boost the economy I would be for it, but it contains so much damn pork it’s disgusting. Other then Infrastructure, I don’t see anything in that bill that will help stimulate the economy

Alaska has 46 projects while my home state(California) has almost 2000..Good God is my state going to hell in a hand basket, so what do idiots here do instead, produce more children like that woman in Whittier. Well that’s California for ya, meanwhile Florida has almost 1800
Even the infrastructure part to a certain degree, will not stimulate the economy long term. It’s going to pass, we all have to accept that, I just wish Sarah could come out and just say she supports NOTHING about the bill and it should only contain tax cuts. But, unfortunately in the real world it contains $$ for states that they need (and would normally get anyway), and she has to make sure AK gets it.
She’s in a difficult position, having to tow the line b/w pleasing her national constituency and state constituency.
I hope she comes out w/ a statement or something in the coming days clarifying everything since it seems a lot of people are kinda panicked and confused about her positions on this bill.
Perhaps the Governor could direct us to the part of the Constitution that allows the federal government to take money from people at the point of a gun and then hand it over to others.
Looks like Alaska is only after the Infrastructure part which is greatly needed in that state. Don’t see anything else in the projects other then fixing roads, etc. Meanwhile my state wants everything handed to them by the damn Government, figures
