Hey, if he’d ever recorded a version of “Monster Mash”, this article would be *really* macabre.

Most remarkably, his thick brown hair was still perfectly coiffed in his familiar, 1950s flat-top. That's a relief. You wouldn't want to see a 50s rock and roller with his hair grown out long and smelling like a hippie.

Richardson, who also wrote the George Jones hit, "White Lightning," was toying with an idea he had for a new kind of jukebox that would play short films of musicians playing their hits. He called them "music videos." I doubt that he called them "videos" as they would have been on FILM and not "video".
Scopitones began in 1958 in France, there were also Italian Cinebox/Coilorama and Color-Sonics formats competing.

Chantilly Lace was ACTUALLY the flip side of Richardon's "intended" novelty hit.
The song? "Purple People Eater Meets The Witch Doctor". It didn't hit but it did get covered later.

Oddly enough I think I find the Burger King King to be scarier than this article. =:O What a freaky looking thing. I’m waiting for him to go crazy and start killing.

MEETS the Witch Doctor. An answer song to TWO novelty songs. He was a DJ at the time.
I think he also wrote Running Bear (in addition to White Lightnin’).
