Look! It's Jonathan Livingston Cheeto Gull! I think I just saw that guy in San Pedro, down where the Ghetto meets the sea...

' Further North along the Coast, I remember one Western Gull who used to fake a broken wing. He'd go squawking, dragging one wing up and down the tourist's walkway, between a couple of take-out fried fish joints.

After a few or more passes without getting a hand-out, he'd go quiet. Then, after glancing back-and-forth (to make sure nobody was watching) he'd tuck his fake-injury wing back into normal position. Then after waiting a bit longer, he' hop up on the plank-topped railing, wait a little longer (all the while scanning around), then fly away. I watched the same con game play out near daily for about a month. The he disappeared.

I dunno. Maybe he got a job as a Hollywood extra or something.
