***I looked at the Arkansas regulations. It reads nothing less than a .22 cal centerfire and no rimfire of any cal. ****

Any center fire cartrige with an expanding bullet is legal. again, ANY centerfire.

I only know what I read in the Arkansas General Hunting Regulations. I read an exerpt on the Game and Fish website. It says in the prohibited weapon list : “Any centerfire rifle, pistol, or revolver smaller than .22 caliber”. The word “any” seems pretty plain to me. I didn’t see any exceptions for expanding bullets.

They must have changed it in the last few years. It used to be ANY center fire was legal. As for expanding bullets, the law says FULL METAL JACKET are forbidden. That leaves expanding bullets.

I used to joke with friends that I would try my luck with a .25 acp if I could find soft nose ammo. I never tried.
