"Nah. They won it without Shockey, and if necessary they'll win it without Burress. They don't need headcases, no matter how talented, to win Super Bowls. All they need is a great coaching staff, best offensive line in the NFL, Earth (Jacobs) Wind (Ward) and Fire (Bradshaw), Eli Manning, and solid D. ...all of which they have."

You could well be right; The distraction (as proven in Shockey's case) actually clearly helped focus the team during the playoffs. Gotta hope Jacobs is ok. D@mn tho - Plax was great on that fade route....All other components are A-1.

"As for the headcase Burress, I doubt we'll be finding out out what really happened in this instance. Was it intentional? Was he drunk and sloppy with his gun? Could be anything with this guy."

All of the above. Sometime ya can't take the 'hood outta the home slice.

"If I was head coach he would be picking wood out of his ass the rest of the season."

If the reserves continue playing well, Plax may well find himself on the outside looking in. LIKE SHOCKEY.

"Giants -3 1/2"

Gonna be a war. If Jacobs is ok, the G-Men win easily imo.

Gotta hope Jacobs is ok.

Bradshaw too -- he's questionable for Sunday. Can't win the SB without Earth and Fire. ...although Wind by himself can get the job done nicely, as he showed for 3 quarters last week.

As a Patriots fan I hope he's out for the rest of the season and/or that he's charged with some relatively minor crime,is given probation and his probation officer doesn't allow him to travel for away games.

I have a dream!

Lol, yeah. Coughlin to Plax: “GO SEE A FRICKIN’ PSYCHE DOC and see me by the 1st round of the playoffs.”

As a Stater, I know the football culture there pretty well. Hoping Dantonio can turn things around. Long line of troubled WRs though. Only Mushin Muhammad is the on the straight and narrow. Rison, Plaxiglass, and Charles Rogers have all been whack jobs.

We've just played two very physical teams - the Eagle and Ravens who battered us - and the Cards took their best shot. Remember - the G-Men are the defending SB champs. Teams (ALL with winning records) are getting cranked up to play them.

Now Bradshaw's questionable?

Manning is going to have to win this game.

A "dream" that's NOT retroactive to last January ;-)

The Pats? NOT gonna be there this year. The Giants killed their Dynasty (sob, sniffle)

The good news is that Portis is questionable as well.

Eli needed to step up big for the G-Men to win last week, and he responded by having his best game of the season. As Coughlin said in the postgame, Eli does whatever they need him to do. The man is clutch.

"Plaxiglass"

Bwwaahaa!

Yeah, the "culture" treats these guys like Princes and Royalty.

A cheap tackle 5 minutes into the season "killed" their "dynasty" this year. They're 7 and 4 this year without their franchise player...one of the greatest QBs to ever strap on a set of shoulder pads.

Yup, Portis is hurting; A couple of shots from us oughta knock him out of the game. Their offense is NOT impressive otherwise.

No doubt - Eli knows exactly what needs to be done - Amazing what the jettison of Shockey did to/for his confidence. His rep is etched in stone by now: C-L-U-TC-H. Happened quick. But the Giants' O-Line?? At least 4 all-pros, and amazingly durable.

Yeah, he was called Plaxiglass back at MSU. Ironically, Charles Rogers was called Smokey, after Chris Tucker’s character in the movie ‘Friday’. He kinda looked like him too.

Not saying the Pats aren't a good/formidable team, but EVERY team loses key players. The Pats had been lucky regarding injuries. The Giants lost their all-pro DE, Osi Umenyiora, sustained other injuries (Plax) and haven't missed a beat.

Back in 1991, the Giant lost QB Phil Simms, and won the SB with sub, Jeff Hosteltler.

It's 40 guys who win.
