Absolutely on the mark. We need to wake up to the decline. Pray it isn't too late.

Letterman’s turning into an old grouch. The way he wouldn’t let go of the McCain non-appearance... he’s a jokester with ego issues, like Jerry Lewis.

I really miss Johnny Carson.

Letterman sits in his studio, a sour, whiny gasbag, long past whatever prime he once enjoyed...and gossips with botox-addicts for a living.
Great line! BTW, the offspring wrote to her for encouragement and thank-you's = partly as a HS assignment and partly because she was pretty dang inspiring around here.

Look, my money was the stalker,...so he got lucky. Sure a bad haircut and bad teeth can make you millions, and yes, building a career on dropping watermelons is ever so funny, duh!

David Letterman is an obsessive-compulsive germaphobe, his opinion, matters not.

Great article. I have always enjoyed political humor and satire, however over recent years Letterman exhibited such hatred toward President Bush and conservatives in general that was so blatant that I turned him off in favor of Leno. Perhaps Leno is just as much a liberal, but his humor was not as blatantly biased. May explain the ratings as well.

The fact that Letterman and his ilk are still attacking Governor Sarah Palin almost three weeks after the election shows that they are AFRAID of her. Heck, I haven't heard Biden's name mentioned once in the past two weeks. He'll make other VPs look like megawatt stars!

Herman Melville employed his narrative genius in
Billy Budd to dramatize why Letterman hates Sarah Palin.

Don’t ignore his writers.
NYC’s upper West Side is the nesting place of the most left-wing anti-American Americans in existence.
Recall Letterman’s pro-union comments during the writers’ strike.
I’ll say one thing about Dave: he has the greatest hair piece I’ve ever seen. Brilliantly under-stated, it looks like the normal hair of a middle-aged guy, unlike most of the rugs worn by typical entertainers.

Letterman started out as just some nobody on a local cable TV show reading the weather report. I never thought he was funny at all.

The Left is engaged in an effort to dehumanize their opposition. If their opponents aren't really human (as defined by their perceived intelligence, "funny" accent, religion or whatever label is handy at the time), then they are perfectly justified in denying them their Constitutional Rights.
In California, gays are arguing that stupid people (meaning people who don't vote with them) shouldn't be allowed to vote. When Al Gore lost, many Liberals argued for the elimination of the electoral college. Only city people are smart enough to elect a president, don't you know? Liberal judges across the country void the will of the people when it doesn't go the way they wanted it. One man, one vote is nothing more than a slogan to them. They are the elite. They deserve to rule and eliminating the competition, no matter how un-Constitutional the means, is not only desirable but necessary.

Letterman is a no-talent overpaid jerk.
The kind of idiot who sat in the back of the classroom and made stupid jokes all day while everybody else was trying to study.
Its pathetic anybody listens to this loser.
